Moderately intense aromas of sweet black cherry fruit intermixed with minerals, smoke, and spice box are followed by a well-balanced, harmonious wine with excellent richness, sweetness (from glycerin), and a spicy, soft finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. (4/2001)
Medium red-ruby. Ripe aromas of plum and smoked meat. Supple and fruity, with moderate depth and sweetness. Slight edge of acidity. Then nicely ripe on the finish, with supple tannins. (6/2000)
