2010 Justin Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

SKU #1112924 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Outer quote mark (raised in small American oak barrels, 28% of them new): Inky ruby. Ripe cherry and plum aromas are complemented by notes of licorice and vanilla. Lush and seamless on the palate, offering pliant dark fruit flavors and showing a slight warmth on the back end. Finishes sweet and gently tannic, with a hint of bitter chocolate and good cling. Inner quote mark (11/2012)

K&L Notes

Justin's 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is generous and easy-to-drink, with loads of ripe red and black fruits, meaty undertones and a dollop of spice. The long, cool vintage allowed the sun to slowly marry ripe varietal characteristics while maintaining crispness and balance. The wine was aged for 18 months in 28% new American oak. The tannins are definitely perceptible, but they give this otherwise juicy red some nice texture, perfect for fancy burgers, braises and stews. This is a price point at which Paso Robes Cabernet really shines in comparison to other regions.
