Vibrant layers of exotic fruit, smoke, spices, honey and licorice flesh out in the 2010 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche. Simply put, the 2010 is rich, dense and strikingly beautiful from the very first taste. There is a deep sensuality and allure about the 2010 that are simply compelling. This is another fabulous showing from Drouhin. Anticipated maturity: 2015+. This is a striking set of wines from Drouhin. Veronique Drouhin describes 2010 as a year with cool temperatures in July and August, but much better weather in September.

Burghound
This is even more primary than the Corton-Charlemagne as here there are vestiges of fermentation aromas that presently still dominate the nose. Otherwise, there is serious size and weight to the big-bodied yet seductively textured, even silky flavors that possess an abundance of mouth coating dry extract. There is a fine minerality to the energetic and quite firmly structured finish that displays genuinely striking persistence. This will require ample cellar time to reach its full apogee.

Wine Enthusiast
The vineyards of the Marquis de Laguiche date back to before the French Revolution, and Drouhin is fully responsible for producing the wines since the 1940s. This ripe, opulent selection lives up to its illustrious pedigree. It is full bodied, and it offers vibrant acidity and minerality. It's a wine for aging over eight years and many more.

Pale bright yellow. Ripe pear, white flowers and a note of coconut on the fragrant nose. Then dense and vibrant in the mouth, showing superb energy and definition to its pear, spice and white pepper flavors. Finishes with enticing saline minerality and an impressively tactile quality. A superb vintage for this bottling, but in need of some cellaring. This was bottled in August of 2011. 92(+?) points.

K&L Notes
From Jancis Robinson: "Quite floral nose. Not that rich and full and heavy but very flattering, great depth and length. Very long. It’s really all on the finish." (01/2012)
