Dark middle with an evolved rim. Firm, aromatic cassis. Thick and dense and confident with real savour. Tannins in retreat. Very clean. (9/2007)
A gutsy, classic St-Estephe with a saturated purple color, plenty of sweet cassis fruit with high quality new oak in the background, good body, and good sweetness and a chewy texture, and the vintage's high tannin well-displayed. This well-endowed wine requires 5-6 years of cellaring. (RP) (4/1999)
Medium red. Rather exotic plum and berry aromas accented by sweet oak. Pliant and sweet, with moderate intensity of flavor and stuffing. Tannins are ripe but less fine than those of the '00. This should be accessible early. (ST) (6/2001)
Beautiful chocolate and berry character. Medium-bodied, with a good core of fruit and velvety tannins. Medium finish. Best after 2001. (1/1999)
