All about softness and luxury, this is a gentle Cabernet melding red and black currant flavor with luscious dark chocolate tannins.

James Suckling
A soft, fruity red with currant, light jam and berry character. Full body, medium tannins and a light finish.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Bright, medium ruby-red. Black cherry, herbs, tobacco leaf and loam on the nose, sweetened by chocolatey oak. Juicy and firmly built, showing good clarity and brisk acidity but with an obviously herbal component to the black cherry and currant fruit. Finishes with serious but essentially fine-grained tannins and a lingering green element. Will this very primary young wine gain in complexity with time in bottle? (ST)

Wine Enthusiast
There’s a lot of rich, ripe blackberry, blueberry, black currant and cassis flavor in this Cabernet, but it’s still finding its balance. The fruit is primary in nature with strong tannins and oak that’s not yet integrated... so give it 3-4 years and drink with steak.

K&L Notes
This release from Groth is a winner all around. It is loaded with fruit and shows hints of toasty vanilla oak, sweet herbs and the finish is long and lingering. Give this wine some time in a decanter to allow the flavors and aromas to come together. (Clyde "Trey" Beffa III, K&L Domestic Wine Buyer)
