1991 Anderson's Conn Valley "Estate Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

SKU #1090508 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Outer quote mark As I stated in a previous report, the 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most forward, velvety-textured wines made by the Andersons. The wine exhibits a beautifully saturated, dark purple color, and a nose of sweet cassis fruit, oak, flowers, and spices. This medium to full-bodied, smoothly-textured wine can be drunk now or cellared for 20 years. (RP) Inner quote mark (12/1994)

92 points Vinous

Outer quote mark Good medium red; not crystal-clear but showing just a hint of amber lightness at the rim. Wild, musky aromas of raspberry, mocha, roasted meat and leather. Fine-grained, intense and still quite juicy; not a thick or particularly silky wine but intense and energetic, conveying attractive spicy lift to its red berry, game, leather and forest floor flavors. Finishes with a firm dusting of tannins and lovely subtle rising length. Turned a bit drier and dustier with air. Probably past its peak, with its fruit starting to fade, but a lovely drink even now, and it doesn't lack for energy. And if there was brett here since the outset, even today it's simply another element of the wine's complexity. (ST) Inner quote mark (7/2018)
