2010 Herman Story "Tomboy" White Blend

SKU #1090013 89 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Outer quote mark The 2010 Tomboy is gorgeous. Layers of tropical fruits, honeysuckle, mint and lychee emerge from this textured, resonant white. The Tomboy is very much a big boy, but all the elements are beautifully balanced, most of all in the wine’s superb finesse on the palate. The alcohol is just a touch noticeable on the finish. Otherwise, this is a fine effort. The 2010 is 71% Viognier and 29% Roussanne. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. Inner quote mark (8/2012)

K&L Notes

The 2010 Tomboy is a cuvee of Viognier and Roussanne sourced from the Larner and Camp 4 vineyards on California's Central Coast. From the winery: "Scents of pretty white flowers, lemon verbena, cinnamon, clementines, wet sidewalks and pink peppercorns. The palate has all the richness of those warm summer evenings and the subtleties of white tea, almond oil, laurel leaves and a cool, quartz-like minerality." The 2009 vintage garnered 92 and 90 points, respetively, from Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator.
