2003 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

SKU #1080135 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Outer quote mark This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is from the beautiful Bryant Family Vineyard overlooking Lake Hennessey. Made following a period of turmoil (changing winemakers, lawsuits, etc.) at this estate, the dense purple-colored 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses a classic nose of spring flowers, blueberry liqueur and creme de cassis, 15.2% natural alcohol, and a complex, sweet, rich, full-bodied mouthfeel. There are many great vineyard sites in this area, and Bryant is exploiting theirs to the maximum. Drinkable now, this beauty should keep for 10-15 more years. (RP) Inner quote mark (6/2013)

93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Outer quote mark Ruby-red. Crushed cassis and caramel on the nose. Dense and sweet on the palate, with a deep core of cassis fruit. Powerful, ripe, long wine, finishing with sweet tannins and a youthful, juicy quality. This needs a few years of patience. (ST) 93+ Inner quote mark (5/2006)

K&L Notes

Bryant Family is one of the premier collectors' dream Cabernets in California. Serious wine here; for example, David Abreu is their vineyard manager and Michel Rolland is their consulting enologist. Always highly rated and sought after, the Bryant Cab is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from their estate Pritchard Hill vineyard which looks out over Lake Hennessey.
