Sherry lovers, alight here: This stop is full of Fig Newtons, dates, raisins, brown sugar, candied citrus, dark chocolate, and a delightful dried mango aroma. Generous flavors of berry jam, raisins, figs, and dates mingle with white pepper, dried ginger, candied orange peel, nuts, and dark chocolate tinged with leather and tobacco, along with a mouthwatering salinity. The finish has a phantom chewiness: There’s nothing left in the mouth, but it’s still textured and rich, with smoked nuts, cigar wrapper, and raisins. (SSB, Summer 2021)

This bold, topaz-hued single malt makes for an excellent dessert accompaniment. It resounds with smoke and spice, but also shows rich fudge, cocoa and toffee notes, finishing with peppery zing. (KN) (12/2019)

Aged in "the finest" Oloroso sherry butts, the Glendronach 18 Year Old is the darkest and most dense of the three standard expressions. Loaded with spice cake and dark toffee on the nose, the palate follows through with all of the flavor but without ever going over the top. It's fudgy and loaded with dried fruit on the backend, showcasing everything you're looking for in something like a Macallan 18, albeit for $100 less per bottle.
