One of the more backward efforts is the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Schrader. It is dense and full-bodied, but holding more in reserve. As I wrote last year, this is a fascinating portfolio of 100% Cabernet Sauvignons all of them from Beckstoffer-owned vineyards, including the To-Kalon Vineyard in Oakville, and one wine from the George III Vineyard in Rutherford... I think the 2006s are arguably the finest wines of the vintage, and the 2007s appear to be as profound. (RP) 98+

Schrader’s 2006 and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon T6, also from my cellar, were showstoppers. I preferred the 2006 for its explosive, vibrant personality, sumptuous fruit and exceptional pedigree. The 2006 was flat-out breathtaking. Wow. (AG)

Pure and rich, with sweet-tasting dark berry and currant notes that are juicy and lively, unfolding to offer layers of complexity and an elegant body that makes this glide across the palate, firming nicely on the aftertaste, where this displays a dusty, loamy earth character. (JL, Web-2016)
