Good medium ruby. Urgent aromas of crushed berries and licorice. Dense, pliant and sweet, with surprising lift to the lush berry flavors. This rich, concentrated, chocolatey wine really spreads out to saturate the palate. The long finish features floral and spicy nuances. These vines are situated downslope from Rattlesnake and are planted on richer soil. (ST)

The 2007 Zinfandel Dragon Vineyard possesses good ripeness, full-bodied power, and sweet, pure black cherry and currant aromas intermixed with spring flowers, incense, and crushed rocks. This is another high elevation effort with plenty of power, generosity, and was obviously picked at the perfect moment for phenolic maturity. As always, a mind-boggling array of Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs has been produced by the world’s premier Zinfandel specialist, Larry Turley. (RP)
