2007 Raymond-Lafon, Sauternes

SKU #1065022 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Tasted single blind against its peers. It never ceases to amaze me just how well Raymond-Lafon performs year after year. The 2007 has an elegant bouquet with touches of tangerine and dried honey, the underlying minerality beginning to show through with further aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry, good acidity with a very taut finish that will need time to express itself. This remains one of the best value wines of the vintage. Tasted January 2011. (NM) (2/2012)

92 points Wine Spectator

Rich but nicely focused, with bright tangerine, white peach and creamed melon notes and a long, golden raisin-tinged finish. Round and very flattering. Drink now through 2022. (JM) (8/2011)

Jancis Robinson

Pale straw. Quite big and rich and massive. Pear juice and very intense. Very well done! Obviously lots of botrytis and almost but not quite over the top. Very clean and precise. Yes! Long. 17.5/20 points. (JR) (4/2008)

K&L Notes

* Fat and lush; tons of botrytis. Ralph: * Good richness. Fat and nice palate impression.

Rich, lush and sweet with honeycomb, dried apricots and tangerine notes, and great acid/sweetness balance. This is a remarkably on-point, aged Sauternes for $29.99
