2007 L'Ecole No. 41 "Perigee" Seven Hills Vineyard Walla Walla Valley Bordeaux Blend

SKU #1062569

93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dense purple 2007 Perigee Seven Hills Vineyard Estate is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc aged for 22 months in 40% new French oak. It presents a nose of pain grille, pencil lead, mineral, violets, black currant, and blackberry leading to a wine with superb volume and concentration, impeccable balance and loads of savory black fruits. It will easily evolve for 5-7 years and provide prime drinking from 2015 to 2027." (Aug. 2010) From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Dark red. Mellow raspberry, mocha and exotic nutty oak on the nose; slightly roasted compared to the Apogee. Sweet, lush, and very ripe on the palate, with strong acids and floral and herbal notes giving the wine surprising grip. But this is less harmonious and more backward today than the Apogee in spite of its clarity of flavor. Began with a slightly clenched spine of acids and tannins but softened nicely with 24 hours in the recorked bottle." (Nov/Dec '10)
