2003 Bellefont-Belcier, St-Emilion

SKU #1062106 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Because of this terroir’s limestone soils, 2003 was not nearly as stressful for this vineyard as for those planted in gravelly, sandy soils. The result is a fully mature, elegant 2003 offering lots of herbaceously-tinged black cherry fruit, soft tannins and a round, medium-bodied texture. (RP) (8/2014)

Wine Spectator

Lots of plummy aromas with hints of earth. Tobacco. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fruity finish. (JS) (3/2006)

Additional Information:

- When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them.
