Lanson Brut Rosé Champagne

SKU #1056881 91 points James Suckling

A bright, crisp and lively stye of rosé with aromas that are a mix of fresh lemon, red apple and raspberry, leading to a palate with crisp, lithe and juicy texture. Long strawberry fruit flavors, finishes fresh. (7/2015)

Pale orange. Fresh redcurrant and tangerine aromas are complemented by talc and allspice, with a seductive floral quality building in the glass. Lively and focused on the palate, displaying nervy citrus and red berry flavors and an undercurrent of chalky minerals. Finishes with very good clarity, grip and tangy persistence, the red fruit and mineral notes repeating. (JR) (1/2015)

The beautifully judged pale-orange-pink color of this delicious wine is a sign of the balance in the glass. It is crisp and towards the dry end of Brut, typical of the Lanson style. There is fine acidity and a crisp texture from the Chardonnay in the blend. Hints of red fruits come through along with a touch of tannin. The wine is ready to drink. (12/2017)

The current release of Lanson non-vintage Brut Rosé was disgorged in October of 2017 and is composed of a blend of 53% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. The wine is a pale salmon color and offers up a bright and nascently complex bouquet of cherries, tangerine, chalky minerality, rye bread and a gently smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, complex and nicely zesty, with a good core, fine soil signature, elegant mousse and a long, vibrant finish. The non-malo house style of Lanson really makes their non-vintage Rosé a fine companion at the table. (7/2018)

90 points Wine Spectator

Chopped almond, singed orange peel, white raspberry and spring forest notes are backed by firm acidity in this lip-smacking, minerally rosé. Lively, with a lingering, lightly spiced finish. (AN, Web Only-2016)

Jancis Robinson

Pale tawny. Gentle and slightly floral. Very easy and fully resolved but good refreshing acidity. A really good, well balanced, complete drink. (4/2010)

The Lanson Rose starts out as the same wine as the house’s Black Label, but then they add 7% Bouzy Rouge still red wine of Pinot Noir to get the Rose effect with luscious dark fruit elements. This wine is very aromatic with deep floral notes, soft raspberries, and zippy citrus. On the palate there’s strawberries fizzling into lemon curd that lasts into a long finish.

A fuller, warmer wine than the exceptional "Black Label," Lanson it shares a blend with, this is a heaping offering of dried red fruit and macadamia nut with a beam of minearlity carried through the whole. An incredibly fun bottle of wine.

Though this wine carries the exact same breakdown of varietals as the Lanson "Black Label", the two wines could not be more different. The addition of still red wine gives infinite body and length, a great fruit presence, and a gorgeous salmon color. Capable of cellaring for years thanks to its bright acidity and lack of malolactic fermentation, Lanson has shown what a great, long-lived house can truly be capable of.

This dry, racy rosé has great toastiness and an exceptionally fine bead. It is composed of 50% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier, with 7% Bouzy rouge giving the Champagne its color. It has been aged for three years on the lees and is dosed at only 9 grams per liter. Like all of Lanson's Champagnes, the wine is fermented in stainless steel without malolactic.

A lively blend of 50% pinot noir, 35% chardonnay and 15% pinot meunier. Six percent still red wine added to deepen the character. Light salmon colour, with a bright raspberry nose. Very clean, with excellent minerality and tart raspberry and cherry fruit in the mouth. Aged 36 months prior to release.
