This is one of the two second wines of the famed Grand Puy Decasse, and it is rarely encountered in the U.S. and pretty much never reviewed. The Wine Spectator had this to say on the sublect of the 2000 Grand Puy Ducasse: "Plenty of black licorice and berry character in this red. Full- to medium-bodied, with fine tannins..." and from Parker: "A fleshy dark ruby-colored wine, with sweet black currant, tobacco, and cedary notes, this nicely-textured wine has well-integrated wood, supple tannins, and an attractive, relatively lush finish..."
