2007 La Sirena "Pirate TreasuRed" Napa Valley Red Wine

SKU #1054896 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Presented in a squat bottle that resembles a rum bottle, the 2007 Pirate TreasuRed is a delicious, pardon the pun, treasure to drink. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a full-bodied red with silky tannins, plenty of black fruits, pepper and spice. Cascading over the palate without a hard edge, it is everything a wine should be -- delicious and fun. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years. La Sirena’s Heidi Barrett has turned out a wonderful 'grog' made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache and Petite Sirah. (RP) (12/2010)

K&L Notes

Using seven varieties, the "treasure of the seven seas" is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, and Petite Sirah. Pirate TreasuRed will arrive properly in a six-bottle treasure chest box. The bottles resemble rum bottles with the label an old map of the Napa Valley. The wine is bold and Cab-like with the other varietal flavor profiles overlapping, showing off the magic of the blend.
