Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A stunning effort is the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder. It exhibits blue and black fruits along with notions of licorice, graphite, and incense, a formidable array of concentrated fruit flavors, full-bodied power, a silkiness that is atypical for this vintage, and a long, 40+ second finish. Saturated medium ruby. Black fruit, graphite and coffee aromas are lifted by a floral element. Big, powerful and youthfully monolithic; currently less complex on the nose and palate than the Howell Mountain version but the powerful blackberry, violet and mint flavors should expand with extended bottle aging. Quite dominated by its firm acids and huge, oak-driven tannins today. Lay this one down. (ST) 92+

Connoisseurs Guide
Dense, deep and delicious, and both a touch more refined and a little more open than its burlier sibling, this optimally ripened and nicely filled effort is long on cassis, sweet black cherries and caramelly oak.
