Full throttle style with loads of blackberry jam and spices on the nose and palate. Fresh mushrooms develop with time. Full and fruity, with polished round tannins. Blackberries and dark chocolate on the finish.

Bright ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, plum and licorice. Sweet and densely packed, with dark berry and graphite flavors along with a slight dried-fruit character. I find this a bit low-pitched for a Foley wine despite its sound ripe acidity. Finishes with chewy, slightly dry tannins that call for at least a few years of aging. This is all Cabernet Sauvignon in 2006, from vineyards on Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, Atlas Peak and Calistoga. (ST)

Connoisseurs Guide
Elements of ripe currants, plum, cherry cola and sweet smoke are comfortably blended in the accessible aromas of this nicely filled youngster, and, once in the mouth, the wine takes on an edge of the toughness expected of young Cabernet while retaining its hold on moderately deep fruit. Though its gruffly tannic finish is underscored by palpable heat, it does not lose its way in the least, and its sustained sense of fruity substance and depth auger well for five to ten years of age.
