Nutty and toasty, this is already maturing. It has a ripe, soft texture, deliciously balanced between acidity, grapefruit and riper peach flavors. It feels sumptuous, rich and certainly ready to drink. (RV)

The 2000 Dom Perignon is a gorgeous, seductive wine that floats on the palate with remarkable grace. Toasty aromas meld into freshly cut flowers, apricots and pears, with sweet notes of mint and licorice that linger on the long finish. This perfumed, inviting Dom Perignon is elegance personified, and in this vintage the wine fully merits its lofty reputation. (AG)

The 2000 Dom Pérignon is a gorgeous wine to drink now, as it is already showing quite a bit of aromatic and flavor complexity. Although the 2000 doesn’t have the multi-dimensional personality or structure of the very best DPs, it does offer tremendous drinking pleasure today. Hints of pastry, baked apple and mint add nuance, with a touch of reduction that lends an added kick of freshness. Ultimately, the 2000 is a very drinkable and delicious Dom Pérignon. (AG)

Playing off the ripe 2000 vintage, this bottling of Dom Pérignon has intriguing layers of fruit complexity, from mature golden apple to lemon and greener tones of lima and wax beans. The flavors are clean and lasting, transformed into the glistening minerality of limestone. Firm and harmonious, this should develop for a decade or longer.

A big, rich, toasty effort that fills the mouth with fruit, the 2000 Dom Perignon is one of the more full-bodied, concentrated releases from this estate. Offering lots of orchard fruits, toasted nut/bread, and hints of white flowers, it has moderate acidity and a fleshy, layered texture. It’s drinking beautifully today and is ready to go.

Pale gold with a fine bead. Gently smoky aromas of lemon, pear, bay, buttered toast and lees. Round, lightly sweet orange and pear flavors are underscored by smoky minerals and given bite by refreshingly bitter lemon pith. Finishes with a lingering smokiness. This is drinking very well right now and offers classic DP toastiness. (JR)

Starts out round and plush, then the structure takes over. Light peach and berry flavors prevail as this plays out on the lingering finish. Give it a little time to integrate, but this should develop well. (BS)

The original cuvée disgorged in 2007. Richard Geoffroy took over from Dominique Foulon in 2000 and was told, you won’t have same vintage on both Grand Vintage and Dom P but this turned out not to be the case.
Fresh and quite open and developed. Dry finish. Lightly oxidatively dried sensation but on the finish very rewarding. 17.5/20 points (JR)
