Medium ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of currant, plum, mocha, loam and chocolate. Sweet, plush and creamy, with exotic oak notes of chocolate and mocha. An immediately accessible, sweet style of cabernet with rather soft, ripe tannins. (ST)

K&L Notes
The Duckhorn Napa "Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon blends the finest lots of fruit from the winery's seven Napa Valley estate vineyards, which cover the range in elevation, soil type and microclimate. The 2005 blend also boasts the addition of the winery's famed merlot (21%), which adds depth, fruit and approachability to an otherwise big wine. Smoky hickory, bacon and cedar notes create an I-love-the-outdoors contrast to the fresh red currant fruit and vibrant mint aromas on the nose. In the mouth, it's all about the fruit, which is dark, sweet and luscious. Hints of earth and sweet oak along with fine-grained tannins create a lovely foundation.
