Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Poetry (925 cases of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot) is the richest of these wines. Superbly deep ruby/purple-colored with notes of blackberry, cassis, licorice, subtle smoke, and incense, this opulent wine has a plush palate, silky tannins, impressive purity, stature, and length. However, the tannins are there and the wine still tastes primary despite its enormous potential. (RP)

Vinous
Healthy medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of currant, truffle and sweet oak. Plush, easygoing and sweet, with the truffley note carrying through on the palate. A very ripe, chocolatey style with good fullness and breadth--classier and more delineated than the 2004 example I tasted last year perhaps owing to its complicating medicinal and herbal nuances. This plush, deep wine shows lovely texture and salinity. Its tannins are strong but are supported by the wine's stuffing on the persistent finish. (ST)
