This lively, bright Tequila will please purists. A light hand with the oak means a straw hue and brisk aromas of jalapen?o and citrus. The palate melds flavors of bell pepper, fresh rosemary and roasted jalapen?o that lead into mild coconut and graphite notes on the midpalate, finishing with a fresh herb exhale. *Top 100 Spirits 2021* (5/2021)
Ocho's tequilas are made by Carlos Camarena, a third-generation Tequilero, and Tequila Ambassador Tomas Estes. These are vintage designated tequilas; each vintage coming from a single estate with its own mesoclimate, making them the most terroir-driven tequilas on the market. The NOM 1474, or Tequilera Los Alambiques, represents the same facility where the famous Tapatio and El Tesoro are made, the famous La Altena Distillery. This collaboration seeks to distill the purest form of agave, to highlight the distinct flavor differences of various terroirs. Carlos uses estate-grown agave and traditional methods to slow ferment and distill his specially selected agave. Ocho is always aged in used whiskey barrels so as not detract from the incredible depth of flavor that this spirit exhibits straight off the still.
