This shows clarity and beauty now with currant bush and black truffles. Full-bodied, very fine and linear. Such brightness and finesse now.

Spice and ripe fruits are the main characters of this wine, which shows the results of the considerable investment that has gone into this estate. Impressive and modern in style, but still keeping its harmony. (RV)

Decanter
The Derenoncourt consultancy here has produced a wine with pronounced aromas of plum and blackcurrant fruit, vanilla, and smoke. The palate features firm tannins, chewy density, and good length thanks to the blend of two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and one-third Merlot with a splash of Petit Verdot aged in 40% new oak casks. This wine was a surprise favourite of many tasters in our group. (CC)

Black in color, with impressive aromas of flowers, tar, licorice and ripe fruit, such as currant and sultana. Full-bodied, with a solid concentration of fruit and ultrapolished tannins.

This deliciously sexy, seductive style of wine from Prieure-Lichine is very much in keeping with how this wine can perform in a top vintage, offering lush fruit, sweet tannin and a silky, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel with notes of flowers, blue, red and black fruits, some underbrush and loamy soil nuances. Suave, round and juicy, this wine has reached its mature period, and should stay there for at least another 5-10+ years. (RP)

Int'l Wine Cellar
Bright ruby-red. Cassis, bitter chocolate, nutty oak and a whiff of sweet butter on the nose. Fat, sweet and fairly full-bodied, with mocha and smoke notes and a suggestion of lees (consultant Stephane Derenoncourt does a lot of work with the lees and minimal racking here). At once fruity and solid, finishing with ripe, granular tannins.
