Wine Advocate
A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec from the proprietor of Dominus, the 2004 Napanook Cabernet Sauvignon is a soft, consumer-friendly style of wine. It is seductive, has a dark plum/garnet color, plenty of tobacco leaf, black currants, cedar and spice box in a medium to full-bodied, round, generous, yet elegant, style. Drink it over the next decade. (RP)

Supple and rewarding now, with a refreshing taste and softer-than-Dominus tannins. Cedar, vanilla, toffee and spice notes signal liberal oaking, though just 20% of the barrels were new. Snappy red cherry and plum fruit, exotic spices and lively acidity. All five Bordeaux varieties are used.

Int'l Wine Cellar
Red-ruby. Sexy aromas of redcurrant, gravel, minerals and flowers; the perfume reminded me of nebbiolo! Juicy, nicely delineated flavors of raspberry, redcurrant, flowers, mint and a whiff of meat. A rather elegant, complex wine with good lift. The juicy quality continues on the back... (ST)

Wine Spectator
Smooth and harmonious, if on a modest scale. Medium-bodied, with rich, pleasant currant, anise and cherry fruit that's well-proportioned. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Malbec.
