The history of Château Bouscaut's vineyards extends back to the 16th century, when the were planted on the commune of Cadaujac. Originall called Haut Truchon, it was renamed Château Bouscaut in 1929. There were numerous owners throughout the 20th century dedicated to improving both the vineyard and the château. Lauded with both medal and song, Bouscaut was named Graves Cru Classé in 1953. This 1959 is the last vintage from the original château, which was completely destroyed by fire in early 1960.
