This is round and fruity with chocolate, berry and walnut character. Round and friendly. (2/2015)
A sturdy, full-bodied red, with ripe plum, coffee and mineral. Very firm, oaky and a little unyielding for now, but should mellow out after a few years in bottle. Has a pretty texture. (2/2008)
Marco Caprai has been credited with raising this indigenous grape of Umbria to the level of Italy's greatest wines, thereby earning Gambero Rosso's highest rating of "Tre Bicchiere" (Three Glasses) year after year. This thick and tongue staining red was aged in French barriques for 24 months. It is smooth and luscious, with loads of black spicy fruit and ample tannin. A Super Umbrian if ever there was one!
