Even with its standard bottling, Rochioli rises above most other wineries’ vineyard designates. It strikes just the right balance between the rich berry and cherry flavors and earthier ones of coffee, herbs, meat and earth.

There are 2,555 cases of the 2001 Pinot Noir Estate. Its deep ruby color is followed by a beautiful nose of smoked candied cherry fruit interwoven with notions of pomegranate, strawberries, and plums. Subtle oak is present, but the sweet, delicious, fragrant style is sure to seduce all tasters, even the hard core Burgundian terroirists. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years.

Int'l Wine Cellar
Medium red. Slightly diffuse aromas of red fruits and herbs. Supple, sweet and easygoing, with ripe, fruit-driven flavors of cherry, strawberry and plum. At its best today on the finish, which is juicy, bright and dry, with a mineral note.
