The 2003 vintage represents the fourth release of this vineyard-designated Cabernet Sauvignon from the Simi Winery Landslide Vineyard in southern Alexander Valley , which was first planted in 1985. The Landslide Vineyard, 170-acres divided by forces of nature into three distinct sections, produces wines that reflect the extraordinary diversity of the vineyard and its dramatic geologic history. Blackberry and plum flavors are accented with cocoa and spice giving layers of complexity and depth. Full on the palate, ripe tannins give lasting flavor and intensity. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec and for 24 months in French and American oak, 52% new French.
