2004 Martinelli "Moonshine Ranch" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

SKU #1025973 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The extroverted 2004 Pinot Noir Moonshine Ranch boasts a dense ruby/purple color and a big, sweet nose of blackberries, forest floor, dried herbs, raspberries, and sweet cherry liqueur. Dense, rich, and full-bodied, this is a knock-out, full-throttle Pinot Noir ... (RP) (12/2005)

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Good deep red. More complex nose combines brambly dark berries and rooty forest floor scents. Lush and creamy if a bit youthfully aggressive today. Shows a distinctly darker fruit character than the Zio Tony example and comes across as younger. A big, broad Pinot, finishing with dusty tannins and a suggestion of sassafras. (5/2006)

Wine Spectator

A bold, ripe, assertive style, intense and full of ripe, spicy wild berry, blackberry, rose petal and light cedar notes. The acidity and tannins give it a vibrant mouthfeel and it keeps repeating the tasty fruit flavors. (12/2005)
