Made by Cathy Corison, this wine is now in its second vintage, where it shows black-cherry fruit touched up by leather and spice. A big wine needing some time to come together; it is stylish for sure, with a vivid, exciting finish. (11/2000)
Good bright red-ruby color. Cassis, black cherry, plum syrup, licorice, bitter chocolate and leather on the nose; reminded me of Saint-Julien. Concentrated and rather powerful, with slightly inky flavors of cassis and dark chocolate and a faint herbal streak. Dense and solidly built. Finishes with strong, tongue-dusting tannins.
