2000 Larrivet Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan

SKU #1014847 91 points Wine Spectator

Very ripe fruit on the nose, with hints of tobacco and cedar. Full-bodied, with big, chewy tannins, yet soft and luscious. Best after 2007. (JS) (3/2003)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The deep ruby/purple-colored 2000's rich, complex perfume displays aromas of cedar, black cherry liqueur, melted licorice, scorched earth, tobacco, and new oak. The wine is rich, firm, tannic, concentrated, and medium to full-bodied with admirable sweetness of fruit. It is a beautiful effort that should be drinkable between 2007-2020. (RP) (4/2003)

K&L Notes

One of my favorite lesser-known properties in Bordeaux. The reds are always quite delicious and readily approachable. (Clyde Beffa, K&L Bordeaux Buyer)

A great old school Graves composed of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon. It had a clean earth and bright mineral nose that was nicely open and framed by a little bit of vanilla. The fruit was sweet and rich, the texture decadent, and the over all impression as big as a California wine. On the back end it focused into pure Graves minerality… I wish I had bought cases of this on release and will be looking out for it in the future!
Drink from 2015 to 2030
