Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, the terrific 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa boasts a dense ruby/purple color, and a concentrated, opulent personality with flashy notes of black currant, kirsch, spice box, cedar, and smoke. Full-bodied, low in acidity, and juicy, this lush, in-your-face Cabernet Sauvignon should be delicious when released and age nicely for 12 or so years. (RP)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Rich, full nose combines roasted currant, cedar, spice box, chocolate mint, coconut and smoky oak, along with a lightly leafy quality. The lushest and fullest wine of this tasting, with the most harmonious combination of fruit and acidity. Dense but firm and nicely delineated. Finishes with fine, spreading tannins that coat the mouth and teeth. (ST)

Wine Spectator
Supple-textured, complex and balanced, with spicy dill, coconut, plum and dried currant fruit that picks up a touch of anise, ending with grainy tannins. (JL, Web Only-2009)
K&L Notes
Blended with 8% Cabernet Franc, 6% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot. Winery tasting notes: "The 1999 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a garnet color. It possesses an expressive nose of cassis syrup, cloves, sandalwood and black licorice. This wine has an incredibly rich fruit-sweet attack, full body and an extremely long finish of ripe fruit and chocolate. This Cabernet will continue to improve until 2026 given proper cellaring."
