2000 Duhart-Milon Rothschild, Pauillac

SKU #1004660 93 points Wine Spectator

Very solid, this sports lots of fresh bay, pepper and rosemary notes amid a slightly chunky core of black currant and fig paste flavors. The finish picks up a prominent charcoal edge, but this is warm and inviting overall. Like a cabin hideaway, this is pleasantly rustic. (JM, Web Only-2016)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

An outstanding Duhart, certainly one of the best produced at this estate since the 1996, 1986, and 1982, this blend of 80.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19.5% Merlot reveals a deep ruby/purple color as well as notes of lead pencil intermixed with wet stones, black currants, and a certain leafiness. Medium to full-bodied, ripe, and dense, but tightly-knit, with considerable tannin, it will require patience. For those willing to wait, it will be a sleeper of the vintage. (RP) (4/2003)

Wine Enthusiast

The younger brother of Lafite, Duhart-Milon exhibits deliciously pure fruit. The wine is deceptively soft, because under the black jelly fruits, there are also dusty, dry, firm tannins. At the end, though, it is the vibrant fruit which lingers. (RV) (6/2003)
