Wine Enthusiast
From the heartland of Chardonnay in Champagne comes this rich, creamy, apple-flavored wine. It has lively acidity, balanced with some sweetness from the dosage. It has weight and a crisp aftertaste. (RV)

Wine Spectator
Lightly floral, this creamy crowd-pleasing Champagne shows good balance, with a lively mix of Honeycrisp apple, passion fruit and smoked almond. (AN)

100% Chardonnay from Oger, Cramant and Avize. From a 50-ha estate. Olivier Bonville is the third generation to make wine here. Super-clean fresh nose, smells like a health scrub. Vigorous mousse. Crisp edges and a creamy middle, streaked with verbena. More green than lemon, and just slightly sour. Quite weighty and substantial yet with a cutting edge, like prow of a ship. *Good Value*

K&L Notes
Half bottles of Champagne are a terrific thing to have on hand, but nothing suffers worse from poor storage. Our bottles come straight from Bonville in Avize to our air-conditioned warehouse on a refrigerated container — it does not get any fresher! The direct import pricing doesn't hurt either! All of the fruit comes from Bonville's own vineyards in the marvelous grand cru of Avize. It is all Chardonnay blended from three sensational years: 2007, 2006, and 2005. This Champagne has exotic, ripe fruit aromatics and, as the glass warms up, there are also traces of clean clay and earth, just like in a great Chablis. On the palate this Champagne has pure fruit and a wonderful, full texture.
