Dark garnet. Opens with lovely aromas of cinnamon, clove, cedar and cocoa. Offers a wonderful inner-mouth sweetness, with a core of black cherry enhanced by soft tannins. Though this mid-weight wine is very pleasant, it thins on the close, lacking the persistence of the best Brunellos of this vintage. (EB) (7/2002)
Exotic red. Lots of currant and ripe fruit, with hints of toasted oak. Full-bodied and very creamy, with a berry and vanilla aftertaste. Delicious. (JS) (6/2002)
A nose of tree bark, leather and spiced cherries kick it off, followed by a clean palate of pie cherry that’s snappy and tangy. Hardly rich, this Brunello emphasizes acidic red fruit, some chocolaty nuances and a bit of earthiness. (MS) (11/2003)
