2007 Künstler "Stielweg Old Vines" Riesling Trocken (Dry) (Previously $51)
This has an exotic cast, featuring passion fruit, vanilla and apricot aromas and flavors. Opulent and expansive on the palate, yet balanced, lingering with a mineral accent. Drink now through 2015. (Web-2009)

The 2007 Hochheimer Stielweg Riesling Alte Reben is, as usual, resolutely dry-tasting. With scents of iris and toasted pumpkin seed; palpably high extract, an oily palate feel, but satisfying primary juiciness; and a persistent suffusion of salt, chalk, and subtly bitter fruit pit suggestions, this rather austere but clear, refreshing, long-finishing Riesling should – like the best of its predecessors – be worth following for at least 7-9 years.
