Rusty Blade K&L Exclusive "Cask A" Single Barrel Cask Strength Barrel-Aged Gin 750ml (Previously $68)

SKU #1131268

Sometimes two barrels of gin are simply better than one, especially when two barrels of gin, made the same way and aged in the same warehouse, taste this differently from one another. We simply couldn't decide, so we bought them both. The only way to tell them apart is with the batch number (one says KL413A and the other KL413B), so we're referring to them as Cask A and Cask B. Our local distillery on the Peninsula, Old World Spirits, has once again brought the goods with these two single barrels of Rusty Blade. Cask A is much more along the line of what we've featured before: Christmas spices, cloves, and nutmeg, all mingling along with the juniper. For fans of our previous batches, this one is for you.

As far as I know, Blade was the first to start making barrel aged gin in the craft cocktail movement. Similar to previous iterations, this batch his exploding with Christmas spices. Really fantastic and dynamic. This should be a blast to play with in cocktails, perhaps paired with fresh apple cider?

Holy moly, this is one crazy gin! Crazy in a very very good way. Juniper, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. I don't exactly know what to make of it but I do know that I like it. In the spirits cabinet it will go.

This aged gin is full of expressive and pronounced aromatics and flavor. There is juniper mixed with baking spice flavors enveloped in a full bodied and round liquid. In other words, it is delicious, unique, is good alone and should go well in creatively inspired cocktails.

Fans of past bottlings of the Rusty Blade rejoice- this is your baby, back again! All that wonderful gingerbready goodness, clove, nutmeg and cinnamon with sweet juniper flashing through. Doesn't even really feel like Gin. Y-U-M!
