2007 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Brunello di Montalcino
*#9 on Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2012* Though dense and rich, this red is also sleekly proportioned and harmonious. The cherry, raspberry, licorice, earth and tobacco flavors meld with the solid structure. Offers fine length and complexity that increases with aeration. Best from 2014 through 2025.
Lots of fresh mushroom, with dark fruits on the nose. Full body, with silky tannins and a juicy finish. Balanced and attractive. Slightly chewy now.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino emerges from the glass with black cherries, plums, tobacco, spices and licorice. In 2007 the Brunello is especially dark and muscular for the vintage. The warmth of the year plus the estate’s search to make a Brunello that is more approachable in both price and early appeal comes through in spades.

Good medium red. Expressive aromas of strawberry, spices, tobacco and underbrush. Supple, sweet and seamless but with modest real cut and thrust to its easygoing ripe red fruit, floral and spice flavors. Finishes with notes of chocolatey oak and herbs.
