2006 Fluteau "Cuvée Prestige" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne

SKU #1073591

This is a rare bird: a pure Chardonnay Champagne from the Aube, where Pinot Noir is king. The gentle rolling hills of Gye-Sur-Seine do not ensure against frost as well as the steep slopes of the Côtes de Blancs do, and the warmer spring climate here encourages premature budding of the vulnerable Chardonnay. This rarity is a treat, with a very open nose that is full of flowers. On the palate, it is quite ripe, not from sugar however, and the finish is dry by contrast. Like all of the Fluteau wines, it is fermented in stainless steel and goes through complete malolactic fermentation. This is a fantastic partner for ahi tartar or as a way to welcome guests to your next party. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

Quite simply- an elegant, unusual, amazing Champagne- a Blanc de blanc with a hint of florals in the nose, mineral, glamorous and pretty. A sure-fire hit as a hostess gift, for holiday entertaining or for an evening with a special someone. This beautiful wine will not disappoint. Lovely, lovely, lovely!

I had the please of enjoying this amazing Blanc de Blancs the other night with some fellow coworkers and a nice wedge of Mt Tam triple cream. I truly don't think there is anything better than simple pleasures in life like that. The cheese was glorious, the company wonderful and the champagne was incredible! Fluteau is a new addition to our DI portfolio and they do a stellar job of holding their own in this stacked lineup of amazing grower producers.
