2016 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) Back In Stock!
2016 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival)

99 points James Suckling: "This is a stunning Beaucastel. A classic! Has a superb array of fruit, ranging from red, through to blue, darker purple and black. Nuances of dark, stony minerals, spices, wild flowers and herbs. So fleshy. This has impeccable balance, super-silky tannins and an extraordinarily long finish. This has decades ahead of it. Drink or hold." (08/2018) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bottled only a week before my visit, I was blown away by how well Beaucastel's 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape was showing. It's full-bodied, creamy ...Read More »

2016 Coudoulet de Beaucastel Rouge

94 points James Suckling: "This has a very plush, luscious and generously fleshy feel. Cherry compote, raspberries, blackberries and plums. Tarry elements, too. Smooth, velvety, pure and even. Succulence, elegance and clarity. Such value here. Drink or hold." (08/2018) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Côtes du Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel was bottled just two weeks before my visit, hence the plus sign attached to its rating. Planted just outside the boundaries of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, the vines here average 80 years ol ...Read More »

1998 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape

96 points Wine Enthusiast: "A big, rich wine with huge amounts of fruit oozing out of the glass. Great concentration and intensity, with licorice flavors from the Mourvèdre, finishing with chewy tannins. A great year for this wine, which should age well for 15 to 20 years." (12/2001) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Very youthful, with a juicy blast of red plum and fig fruit flavors on a racy frame, this also has plenty of spice, tar, plum cake and mineral in reserve, as the finish shows more structure and slowly darkens with time in the glass. Only just sta ...Read More »

2016 Château de Beaucastel "Hommage à Jacques Perrin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival) Top Pick!
2016 Château de Beaucastel "Hommage à Jacques Perrin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The flagship is the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Hommage A Jacques Perrin, 75% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah, 10% Grenache, and the rest Counoise, brought up all in foudre. Blueberries, Peking duck, new saddle leather, black cherries, scorched earth, and an incredible sense of minerality all flow to a massive, concentrated, pure, perfectly balanced 2016 that is a prime example of the old saying, “an iron fist in a velvet glove.” It's a heavenly, perfect wine that's going to live for 30-50 years. One of the old guards of the region, Châtea ...Read More »

2005 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (3L)

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Young but far from unapproachable, the 2005 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape has screaming aromatics of bloody meats, iron, and truffle that are wrapped around a gorgeously fruited core. Medium to full bodied with beautiful structure, a solid, full mid-palate, a smooth, precise texture and a long finish, this is a smoking bottle of wine! Give it another 3 to 5 years in the cellar and then drink over the following 20." (08/2010) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Really dense and locked up now, this is packed with dark fig, curr ...Read More »

2016 Château Beaucastel Roussanne Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Vieilles Vignes (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Also bottled two weeks ago, the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Roussanne Vieilles Vignes is utterly killer and is as good as it gets. Huge notes of orange blossom, peach, tangerine, honeysuckle, and caramelized citrus flow from this insanely good, unctuous, heavenly textured white that possesses full-bodied richness and power, yet stays light, graceful and perfectly balanced on the palate. Drink bottles anytime over the coming 4-6 years, or cellar for a decade or more. Robert Parker once famously called this the Montrachet of the Rhône ...Read More »

1999 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Back In Stock!
1999 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape

92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Full ruby. Highly complex nose combines black fruits, gibier, truffle, road tar, licorice and leather. Very intense and spicy, but still tightly wound, with a firm acid spine keeping the flavors under wraps. 'Very interior wine today,' notes Perrin. But one already senses the incipient complexity. Finishes with building tannins, a note of caramel and terrific persistence. This will need time. 92+ points. (ST)" (02/2002) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 1999 Beaucastel boasts ...Read More »

95-97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the two Châteauneuf-du-Pape releases and 35% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache, 8% Syrah, 12% Counoise, the rest other permitted varieties (Marc calls this a Mourvèdre vintage), the 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape sports an inky purple color as well as a textbook Mourvèdre nose of black, black fruits, smoked meats, crushed rocks, charcoal, and pepper. It's deep and full-bodied, with beautiful purity and building structure. Production is down 40%, but this brilliant wine is certainly in the same league as the 2016. 2017 Château Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc (Pre-Arrival)

93-95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc is another brilliant white from this team that hasn't put a foot wrong in the past decade or more. Buttered citrus, honeysuckle, flower oil, and white flowers all flow to this rich, beautifully layered, fresh and vibrant white that's impeccably balanced. Scheduled to be bottled shortly after my visit, it’s unquestionably another great vintage for this wine. One of the old guards of the region, Château de Beaucastel is nevertheless one of the most progressive and forward-thinking estates out t ...Read More »

You can't find a wine like this anywhere else in the world, and it’s consistently one of the world’s great white wines. 2003 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (375ml)

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "One of the big names of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and this wine justifies the fame of the Perrin family’s property. It is a rich style, but, more importantly, it is beautifully made, structured, dense, with red jelly fruits, a touch of vanilla and a fat, full-bodied, but firm aftertaste. This is a wine for aging—give it at least five years before touching it. *Editors' Choice* (RV)" (12/2005) 94 points Wine Spectator: "Young and tight, with garrigue and roasted game aromas peeking out from a core of ripe black currant, plum and ...Read More »

2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 96JD, 96JS, 96RP, 93WS, 92VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages, and the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape (which Francois Perrin feels is similar to the 1990, although I don’t see that as of yet) is a 15,000-case blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and the balance split among the other permitted varietals of the appellation. This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. Full-bodied and powerful, it will undoubtedly close down over the next several years, not to re-emerge for 7-8 years. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96JD, 96WE, 96WS, 95RP, 94ST, 94VN). Wine Spectator: "Dark, dense and very closed now, this has a tremendous core of crushed plum, linzer torte and blackberry confiture waiting in reserve. Ample singed cedar and mesquite, warm paving stone and black tea notes lurk in the background and glide through the finish. Features serious grip, but wonderful integration. Should cruise in the cellar. Best from 2016 through 2035. (JM)" (08/2013)

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97JD, 96RP, 95DC, 92JG, 92WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Seamless, silky and just drinking perfectly. I don’t think the 1990 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape is going to fade anytime soon but I’d drink them if you have them and I can’t imagine this getting better." (07/2008)
