2017 Domaine Les Pins "Les Rochettes" Bourgueil New!
2017 Domaine Les Pins "Les Rochettes" Bourgueil

A rich ruby red with notes of violets and red berry fruits, this Cabernet Franc is nicely layered on the palate with brightness running throughout and just a touch of smoke mixed in with some purple fruits. Soft waves of mineral with a nice soft tannin make this a true delight to drink. Domaine les Pins has been family run for five generations. They are a small artisanal producer that oversees every stage of production from start to finish themselves. They have roughly 30 hectares of Cabernet Franc spread out through the Bourgueil and Saint Nicolas de Bo ...Read More »

2014 Blackbird "Arise" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend Back In Stock!
2014 Blackbird "Arise" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This blends 38% Merlot with 32% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc. Together these find a healthy companionship of wood, cedar, currant and dried herb, allowing the two Cabernets to speak loudest. Lightly spicy nutmeg and clove linger around well-defined layers of cherry and vanilla. (VB)" (03/2017) 91 points James Suckling: "Aromas of plums, earth and spices follow through to a full body and tight and firm tannins. Structured and powerful. Needs a few year to soften. Better in 2020." (01/2017) Vinous: "The 2014 Ari ...Read More »

2014 Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Rouge New!
2014 Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Rouge

According to importer Becky Wasserman: "In only a few years, Domaine Guiberteau has become one of the most sought after domaines in Saumur, their wines already stringently allocated and found in the best restaurants in France." The entry level Saumur Rouge comes from old vine Cabernet Franc planted in 1955 and 1957. Nearly three-quarters of the fruit comes from Les Arboises, vineyards on the hill of Brézé that are dominated by limestone, while the remainder comes from Les Motelles, vineyards on sand over gravel and clay.

1999 Arietta Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend Back In Stock!
1999 Arietta Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1999 Proprietary Red (a 500-case blend of 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Merlot) offers a dense ruby/purple color as well as a gorgeous Bordeaux-like bouquet of mocha, menthol, scorched earth, black cherries, currants, smoke, and toasty oak. The wine is expressive and full-bodied, with stunning concentration yet admirable delineation. Its moderately high tannin in the finish suggests considerable patience is warranted. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2025. (RP)" (08/2002) 93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Win ...Read More »

2013 Blackbird "Paramour" Napa Valley Proprietary Red New!
2013 Blackbird "Paramour" Napa Valley Proprietary Red

93 points Vinous: "The Cabernet Franc-based 2013 Paramour has turned out beautifully. Espresso, mocha, soaring spice notes and black stone fruits are pushed forward. Aromatic, inviting and ample on the palate, the 2013 is full of Franc sensuality. Like all of the 2013s, the Paramour needs time in bottle to soften, but it is quite expressive today just the same. (AG)" (10/2015) 92 points Wine Spectator: "A big, compelling style, with loads of fresh earth, juicy blackberry, road tar, licorice and toasty oak flavors. Maintains an elegant weight for the si ...Read More »

2015 Ausone, St-Émilion Back In Stock!
2015 Ausone, St-Émilion

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "An utterly perfect wine from Alain Vauthier, the 2015 Château Ausone offers off the hook notes of crème de cassis, black raspberries, toasted spice and dried flowers, with more floral and mineral characteristics developing with time in the glass. Amazingly deep, full-bodied, pure and ethereally textured, with building density and tannin, it’s one of those wines that need to be tasted to be believed. Unfortunately, the production is minuscule (and expensive). A wine that will make your heart rate jump, give it 4-5 years of cellari ...Read More »

1982 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion Back In Stock!
1982 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion

96 points John Gilman: "The bouquet is unmistakably Cheval, with scents of black cherries, bell pepper, dark chocolate, menthol, tobacco, herbs, espresso and vanillin oak wafting from the glass. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep, black fruity, and totally dense at the center, with excellent structure and delineation, great length and grip, and a fair bit of ripe, well-integrated tannin framing the finish. This is very elegant and only medium-full on the palate today (in notable contrast to its thick, luxurious and voluptuous youth), with great ...Read More »

2016 Habit Santa Ynez Valley Cabernet Franc Back In Stock!
2016 Habit Santa Ynez Valley Cabernet Franc

91 points Vinous: "The 2016 Cabernet Franc is a Loire-inspired wine, but with California richness, especially in its fruit. The 80% whole clusters add aromatic nuance and bring out the more floral/savory side of Franc. Lifted and delicate in feel, the 2016 is another winner from Habit. (AG)" (09/2017)

2004 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (nicked / torn label) Back In Stock!
2004 Cheval Blanc, St-Emilion (nicked / torn label)

94 points Wine Spectator: "Intense aromas of tar, blackberry and wet earth, with just a hint of tobacco and flowers. Full-bodied, chewy and long. Extracted, yet turns caressing and velvety in texture. Broad-shouldered and muscular for this estate. (JS)" (03/2007) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cheval Blanc has always been a wine that I felt needed patience on behalf of the wine lover, and so it is proving to be the case. Served blind I remarked upon a surprisingly Burgundy-like bouquet with ample red cherries, candied strawberry and ...Read More »
