1988 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac Back In Stock!
1988 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac

92 points Wine Spectator: "Aromas of black olive, blackberry and currant. Complex and fascinating. Full-bodied, with soft and velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Pretty and satisfying. (JS, Web Only-2009)" 91 points Vinous: "The 1988 Pichon Baron is a wine that I have tasted four or five times before although not since 2011. Deep in colour, it has a tightly wound bouquet with blackberry, wild hedgerow and cedar, touches of tobacco coming through, maybe just a hint of greenness although nothing to get concerned about. 1988 Latour, Pauillac (1.5L) Back In Stock!
1988 Latour, Pauillac (1.5L)

96 points Wine Spectator: "So minty, with loads of subtle ripe fruit and eucalyptus undertones. Full-bodied, with ultrafine tannins and a long, long finish. Caresses every inch of the palate. At 20-years of age, this has a delightful, cedar-infused nose with dark berry fruits, a touch of scorched earth, tar an ...Read More »

1988 Gaja Barbaresco (1.5L) (lightly bin soiled, nicked label/capsule) Back In Stock!
1988 Gaja Barbaresco (1.5L) (lightly bin soiled, nicked label/capsule)

Jancis Robinson: "Increasing brick at the rim though the colour is quite dense and smudgy throughout. Intense notes of black olive and cooked tomato and the sweetness of meat long cooked. Fine and dry and yet still has a real uprightness of structure. With time it just becomes more perfumed and again that tea aroma comes back. Quite a bit of grip in the tannin and acid at the end but its long. Less elegant on the finish than 1994. Later: develops aromas of sweet dark toffee. (JH) 17/20 points" (10/2010) Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1988 Barbares ...Read More »
