2016 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "There's not much of the 2016 Hermitage Blanc to go around due to hail in the springtime, yet the resulting wine is another magical effort from this domaine. Bottled in August, it opens up with a fabulous blast of quince, white flowers, buttered citrus, licorice, and exotic spices. These all carry over to the palate, where the wine is full-bodied, rounded, and incredibly sexy, with a layered, mouthfilling texture. It doesn't have the sheer weight of the 2009 and 2010, but is deep, opulent, with plenty of fat and glycerin, and stra ...

2010 M. Chapoutier "l'Ermite" Ermitage Rouge 6-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Ermitage l’Ermite is another perfect wine. Completely different than Le Pavillon, l’Ermite is always slightly more austere. It comes from a 7.5-acre parcel of sandy, granitic soils at the top of the Hill of Hermitage that produces both red and white compelling Hermitages, somewhat unusual in this tiny appellation. The black/purple-colored 2010 l’Ermite exhibits a tight, more mineral-dominated set of aromatics offering up hints of blue and black fruits, charcoal, steak tartare and an unmistakable floral ...

2012 M. Chapoutier "Le Méal" Ermitage Blanc 6-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that seems to pack more and more quality with each vintage, the 2012 Ermitage le Meal Blanc is borderline perfection, and didn't lose a beat being served beside the de l’Orée and l'Ermite. Flamboyant, ripe, honeyed and decadent, with thrilling white currants, buttered citrus, orange blossom and licorice, it too is a massive wine that will have decades of life. Make no mistake though, it's gorgeous even today. (JD)" (12/2014) 96 points Wine Spectator: "This rolls along, featuring a honeyed edge and straw, ...

2010 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage 6-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

97 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2010 Hermitage La Chapelle is a big, inky, blockbuster styled effort that’s just now starting to enter its drink window. A huge perfume of black (and some blue) fruits, rendered bacon fat, iron, and graphite notes all lead to a powerful, full-bodied Hermitage that has incredibly purity and depth, awesome concentration, and building yet polished tannins. It’s an incredible wine that is still going to benefit from another 4-5 years of bottle age, and I suspect it will see its 50th birthday in fine form 97+" (03/2019) 96 points ...
