1969 Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1969 Beaulieu Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1900, when Georges de Latour decided to buy a small, four-acre property in the town of Rutherford as a surprise for his wife, he perhaps unwittingly purchased a piece of Napa Valley history. The land would become the foundation for Beaulieu Vineyard, which survived Prohibition by having one of a handful of contracts to supply churches with sacramental wine. After Prohibition the winery continued to thrive, experimenting with varietals, blends and aging and under the direction of André Tchelistcheff, the winery would fast become one of California's top wineries, growing production to become one of Napa's pre-eminent producers, yet without compromising quality. From a time in BV's past when delicious and cedary Cabernets were made in an old fashioned, elegant style that, one taste proves, more than stands the test of time. This is a great birthday or anniversary bottle.

1986 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Gruaud-Larose, St-Julien (96RP, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still tasting as if it were only 7-8 years of age, the dense, garnet/purple-colored 1986 Gruaud-Larose is evolving at a glacier pace. The wine still has mammoth structure, tremendous reserves of fruit and concentration, and a finish that lasts close to a minute. The wine is massive, very impressively constituted, with still some mouth-searing tannin to shed. Decanting of one to two hours in advance seems to soften it a bit, but this is a wine that seems to be almost immortal in terms of its longevity. It is a great Medoc classic, and certainly one of the most magnificent Gruaud-Larose ever made. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2035. (RP)" (01/2003)

1985 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1985 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96JG, 94RP). John Gilman: "I can distinctly recall from my early days in the wine trade the release of the 1985 Martha’s Vineyard, which was eagerly anticipated after it was announced that this was the first vintage to be graced with a special label since the legendary 1974. This was at the height of the winery’s popularity and the 1985 Martha’s was an extremely difficult bottle to come by at the time of its release. Consequently, I had not seen a bottle in many years and was delighted to see it included in our vertical at the winery in June. The wine is flat out brilliant, as it soars from the glass in a mélange of black cherries, saddle leather, a great base of soil tones, eucalyptus, smoke, incipient notes of petroleum jelly and a very gentle framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and powerful, with a rock solid core of fruit, great complexity, moderate tannins and a

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Hall "Kathryn Hall" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97JD, 95RP, 94VN, 93WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall gives up terrific complexity in its blackcurrant and black cherry fruits, tobacco leaf and cedary spice bouquet. This gives way to an elegant, silky, classic Cabernet Sauvignon that has impeccable balance, sensational purity of fruit, and a great finish." (12/2017)

2015 Jonata "El Alma de Jonata" Ballard Canyon Red
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Jonata "El Alma de Jonata" Ballard Canyon Red (98JD, 94RP, 94VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Showing awesome aromatics, as well as an incredible depth on the palate, the 2015 El Alma de Jonata (74% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot) reveals an inky purple color as well as killer notes of blackcurrant, spring flowers, dark chocolate, bay leaf and licorice. Possessing full-bodied richness, gorgeous purity of fruit, lots of chalky tannin, and a great finish, this is easily a candidate for the finest Cabernet Franc made in America. It needs 4-5 years of cellaring and will keep for two decades. 98+" (07/2018)

1994 Latour, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1994 Latour, Pauillac (94RP, (92-94ST), 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is an interesting as well as great vintage for Latour. As indicated in my barrel tasting report, Latour's 1994 possesses an atypically high percentage of Merlot (27%) in the final blend. Because of this, the wine appears to have a sweeter, more fleshy texture than is typical for a young Latour, but do not make the mistake of thinking this will be a commercially-styled, easy to drink wine. It exhibits an opaque dark ruby/purple color, and a backward, intense textbook nose of walnut and cassis scents complemented by smoky pain grille notes that build in the glass. This full-bodied, powerful, layered Latour reveals high tannin, but no bitterness or astringency. The superb purity, fabulous precision, and remarkable length should ensure 35-40 years of longevity. Readers will find more fat, flesh, and glycerin than usual for a young Latour (save for such great vintages as 1982 and 1990),

1990 Louis Jadot Chambertin Grand Gru
Bid on this bottle of 1990 Louis Jadot Chambertin Grand Gru (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It will be interesting to follow the evolution of the 1990 Bonnes Mares, Chambertin-Clos de Beze, and Chambertin. All are magnificent examples of not only the heights red burgundy can achieve, but also of the thrilling quality of the 1990 vintage. There is little difference in quality between the Clos de Beze and the Chambertin. The slightly rounder Chambertin is not as tannic or as weighty as the Clos de Beze. I would not touch a bottle for five years. It should mature and improve for 15-20 years. (RP)" (10/1992)

1992 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1992 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was a magical showing for the 1992 Monte Bello—and the best bottle I've ever encountered. At age 26, the wine is still stunningly vibrant and youthful, bursting from the glass with a classic bouquet of cassis, blackberries, black truffles, gravelly soil and pencil shavings. On the palate, it's full-bodied, multidimensional and utterly complete, with superb concentration and energy, its richly layered mid-palate framed by fine-grained, satiny tannins, concluding with a long, sapid finish. Above all, it stands out for its seamless balance and delineation. While for many years the more flashy and dramatic 1991 stole the limelight, as the dust settles, the deeper, more complex 1992 has emerged as the greater wine and one of Ridge's true classics. The product of an October harvest after extensive crop thinning, it's a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauv

Bid on this bottle of 1990 Simi "Reserve" Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A superb Cabernet Sauvignon, it appears to be the finest yet produced by Simi. An extremely saturated dark purple color suggests a wine of formidable proportions. A tight but promising bouquet offers black-cherry, vanillin, and spicy/oaky scents. Ripe and full-bodied, with superb concentration, and layers of rich, opulent cassis fruit gently infused with toasty new oak, this long, lavishly rich wine possesses moderate yet unobtrusive tannin in the finish. With rich, powerful flavors that cascade over the palate as well as beautiful purity and depth, it will be even better with another 2-4 years of cellaring, and is capable of lasting 20-25 years." Bid on this bottle of 1990 Troplong-Mondot, St-Emilion (98RP, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A fabulous example, the 1990 Troplong Mondot is only equaled by such recent vintages as 2000, 2005, and 2008. The inky/garnet/plum/purple-colored 1990 exhibits notes of coffee, blackberries, licorice, camphor, and espresso. Rich and full-bodied with lavish fruit, high glycerin, low acidity, and stunning purity, it is still several years away from full maturity, and should last for another 10-15 years. (RP)" (06/2009)

A racy iron note is now in full throat on the finish. The commanding minerality should carry this through a second stage of life. (JM, Web-2012)"

2013 Rhys "Alpine Hillside" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Rhys "Alpine Hillside" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (99JG, 96RP, 96VN, 92BH). John Gilman: "Unlike the Horseshoe Hillside, the Alpine Hillside bottling does include just a touch more whole clusters than the 'regular' Alpine cuvée, but otherwise the wine has been treated exactly the same in the cellars prior to bottling. The bouquet is pure, complex and absolutely stunning in its youthful magnificence, offering up notes of black cherries, black plums, a stunning base of minerality, a potpourri of botanicals, a touch of gamebird, graphite, incipient notes of the autumnal elements to come, a touch of youthful stems and a refined framing of new wood. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and light on its feet, with a sappy core, great transparency, moderate, beautifully integrated tannins and a long, tangy and still fairly youthful finish. This is more accessible out of the blocks than the Horseshoe Hillside, but it too is really built for the long haul

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Two of the strongest wines ever made at Opus One, the 2007 has terrific black currant fruit, licorice, incense, and subtle smoke, an opulent, even voluptuous mouthfeel, dazzling purity and texture, and a skyscraper-like mouthfeel. This is a sensational Opus One, with sweet tannin and impressive precision and depth. It can be drunk now or cellared for 25+ years. (RP)" (12/2009)

2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those wines that presents such an over the top array of aromas and flavors that it’s hard to figure out what you think about it with just a quick glance. It’s only with the second or third sip that you really start to see how special this effort truly is. Offering up perfumed, intense aromas of plum, violets, ink, licorice and black currants, it flows onto the palate with a massive, incredibly full-bodied texture that builds through the mid-palate and carries layers of polished tannins, awesome purity of fruit and blockbuster length. Most likely not for everyone given the sheer size, it is an incredible wine in my opinion. Still tasting like a barrel sample, it will have 30+ total years of longevity. Drink 2017-2037. What a red with incredible depth and finesse. Cedar, cigar box and toabaaco character with currants and fresh tobacco undertones. It's full-bodied yet tight and dense. Precision. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I have always had a soft spot for the Haut-Brion 1983 as one of the “friendliest” of the First Growths. Though not a top-tier Haut-Brion, the 1983 has developed a fine earthy, leathery bouquet that is similar to the ’86 but without the same vigour or complexity. The palate is very harmonious with a citrus-tinged entry, its lack of depth and length compensated by poise and tension. Sandalwood, cedar and a touch of truffle and smoke towards the finish. Lovely. This is the most northern vineyard of the Bond Estates, and this wine was just incredible. Reminding me of an old vine Grenache cuvée from the Maurel brothers in Châteauneuf du Pape, it boasts a huge nose of black raspberries, kirsch liqueur, graphite, ground herbs, and pepper. 2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 97VN, 97WE, 95W&S, 95WS). Vinous: "The 2001 Monte Bello is a total turn-on. Racy and hedonistic, especially by Ridge standards, the 2001 makes a strong opening statement with its super-ripe fruit and explosive aromatics. Beams of supporting tannin lie in the background and serve to give the wine its overall shape. Hints of leather, mint and sweet tobacco add perfume throughout. Over the last few years, the 2001 has begun to develop quite a bit of more tertiary notes. It remains one of the most flamboyant (and ripest) Monte Bello ever made. (AG)" (06/2017)

Bid on this magnum of 2015 Chappellet "Pritchard Hill Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (100JD, 97RP, 96JS, 96VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Also inky colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill comes from the estate vineyard on Pritchard Hill and spent 22 months in new French oak. It has a similar level of purity, as well as incredible minerality, to go with notes of crème de cassis, scorched earth, crushed rock, and graphite. Reminiscent of liking a rock with its insane level of minerality, this full-bodied beauty is tight and closed on the palate, yet is just loaded with potential. It’s only for those with cold cellars and needs to be forgotten for 7-8 years, but will keep for 4-5 decades. Bravo!" (12/2017)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2007 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97RP, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium to deep garnet in color with a hint of purple, the 2007 Proprietary Red Wine absolutely sings of violets, chocolate-covered cherries, mulberries, star anise and cinnamon stick with a core of cassis, spiced blueberries and warm red plums plus a touch of unsmoked cigars. Full-bodied and jam-packed with opulent black fruit, the palate has a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and perfumed. (LPB)" (08/2018)

2004 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2004 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (98RP, 98WE, 98WS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another rating identical to that which was given in 2007 (when first tasted from bottle), the 2004 Harlan Estate is performing essentially the way I suggested in 2007 as it is one of the more precocious and accessible of the Harlan Estate wines to date. A great showing at this retrospective, this wine, which seems like a hypothetical blend of a Pauillac, St.-Estephe and Graves, represents around 1,500 cases from 40 acres of beautifully manicured hillside vineyards overlooking Oakville. Still dense purple to the rim, with notes of creme de cassis, charcoal, blackberry and sweet toast, the wine is full-bodied and voluptuously textured with the tannins largely resolved. But the density and richness suggest this wine can go a long, long way, even though the window for drinking it seems open and inviting already. A world-class, first-growth wine if there ever

2012 Bevan "Ontogeny" Oakville Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Bevan "Ontogeny" Oakville Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The nearly perfect 2012 Proprietary Red Ontogeny is Bevan’s least expensive and biggest production cuvée (700 cases). A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc, it comes from four of Russell Bevan’s favorite vineyard sources -- Tench, Tin Box, Two Dogs and Sugarloaf Mountain. A big fruit bomb, it boasts a dense purple color as well as loads of crème de cassis, tobacco leaf, underbrush, graphite, lavender, roasted meats and blackberries. Amazing aromatics and super-intensity make for a powerful, full-bodied wine to drink over the next 10-15 years. (RP)" (10/2014)

Vinous: "The 2011 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts is mid-weight, gracious and absolutey impeccable in its balance. Sweet tobacco, mint, red stone fruits, dried cherries and orange peel are some of the notes that inform the Malconsorts. Pliant and expressive on the palate, with highly expressive floral overtones, the Malconsorts is a gorgeous wine in 2011 and just as impressive at it was from barrel. (AG)" (03/2014)

2000 Domaine Georges Mugneret Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2000 Domaine Georges Mugneret Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (91VN). Vinous: "Healthy, deep red. Rather withdrawn, austere nose hints at raspberry, flowers and menthol; showing more oak today than the Ruchottes despite the fact that both were aged in about 70% new barrels. Sweet, concentrated and deep; even fresher than the Ruchottes, with noteworthy flavor definition. Finishes firmly tannic, very long and aromatic. The crop level here was just 33 hectoliters per hectare, according to Marie-Christine. (ST) 91+" (03/2003)

2013 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100DC, 100JS, 100RP, 100VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Dominus is, to my way of thinking, one of the most profound wines Christian Moueix has yet made in his rather brilliant winemaking history, both in France and in Napa Valley. This wine, with very low yields of only 3,500 cases and a final blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, offers up notes of cedar wood, forest floor, loamy soil and oodles of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Very opaque purple in color, super-pure and intense, this wine has low acidity, but ripe, noticeable tannins. This is a 30- to 40-year wine and a profound effort from this famous vineyard in Yountville. Drink it over the next 40+ years. (RP)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Domaine Grand Veneur "Vieilles Vignes" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (100RP, 99JD, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental effort meriting a perfect score, the super-rich 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a 4,000-bottle blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah from 55- to 105-year-old vines and was aged for 18 months in small oak. The wine offers majestic blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with kirsch, licorice and subtle Provencal herbs in the background. It is akin to chewing meat in the mouth given its viscosity and thickness. This utterly amazing wine comes close to being over the top, but it pulls back just in time. A massive Chateauneuf du Pape (even for a 2010), it needs 5-6 years of cellaring and should age effortlessly for 25-30 years. Bravo! (RP)" (10/2012)

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2013 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Feusselottes" ((92-93JG), 92BH, 92VN). John Gilman: "The Feusselottes was a bit reduced at the time of my visit, and I have to suspect that this too was one of the later wines to finish up its malolactic fermentation in the 2013 vintage. With a bit of coaxing, the underlying quality here was very easy to appreciate, with notes of black cherries, dark berries, woodsmoke, dark soil tones, French roast, vanillin oak and violets eventually emerging on the nose. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely tangy, with a fine core, superb soil inflection, fine-grained tannins and lovely length and grip on the youthful finish. Having just drunk a still youthful magnum of the 1993 Feusselottes last year, I am very happy to see the 2013 look very much like the second coming of that superb wine! John Gilman: "The 2013 Ruchottes-Chambertin from Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg is another great example of the vintage. The bouquet delivers and outstanding aromatic constellation of sweet dark berries, cassis, grilled meats, complex soil tones, espresso, woodsmoke, mustard seed and nutty new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very suave and refined on the palate, with a rock solid core, fine-grained tannins and superb backend energy on the very long and utterly classic finish. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2010 Hundred Acre "Ark Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 95ST, 92WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the Howell Mountain Arc Vineyard (usually 1,300 to 1,400 cases produced in a normal year), the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Arc Vineyard could be a candidate for perfection when it hits full maturity in 7-8 years. However, I wouldn’t hesitate to drink it now given the sweetness of the tannin and the abundance of the ripe, concentrated, delicious fruit. The nose exhibits classic aromas of mulberries, graphite, licorice, forest floor, black currants and blackberries. This is a broad, full throttle, multilevel, sensational wine. (RP) 98+" (10/2013)

Warm, oxidative tones add breadth and volume, but the wine remains weightless, impeccable and pure. The delineated, crystalline finish leaves a lasting impression. This is a super-impressive showing from a producer who appears to have a very bright future. Ozanne is the old, historical name by which Avize was known prior to 796. Disgorged May 25, 2012. Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2008 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru "Clos du Château des Ducs" (93BH, 93JG, (92-93RP), 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Lafarge monopole 2008 Volnay Clos Du Chateau Des Ducs leads with striking buddleia perfume, kirsch, and aromatic intimations of oceanic salinity and crustacean savor. Juicy and vibrant; elegant, tenderly-fruited and polished; this is one of those wines that manages to enervate and caress at the same time, and in which bright ripe fruit is allied to a remarkable depth of elements than can only be explicated in animal and mineral terms. Overt suggestions of chalk and cherry pit lend the buoyant finish a measure of austerity, but it is so saliva-inducing and refreshing that severity is not a risk. It should last for at least 15 years. (DS)" (07/2010)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Sine Qua Non "Rätsel 16" California Syrah ((96-99JD), 96RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "A not yet bottled blend of 81% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre, 5% Petite Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Grenache, fermented with 47% whole clusters, the 2016 Syrah Rätsel 16 is an inky colored beauty that has another level of depth and richness over the 2015. Black raspberries, cassis, white pepper, white chocolate, and hints of bacon fat give way to a full-bodied, seamless, elegant wine that has terrific freshness and purity, ultra-fine tannin, and a huge finish. Not too dissimilar from the 2014s, which have the same supple, sexy, and approachable style, it should drink reasonably well right out of the gate and cruise for 15-20 years in cool cellars." Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 Pierre Peters "Les Chétillons - Cuvée Spéciale" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (95RP, 94VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Les Chétillons Cuvée Spéciale Blanc de Blancs Brut blends three plots located in the terroir of Chétillon in the Côte des Blancs Grand Cru Le Mesnil. Disgorged in November 2014, Péter's prestige cuvée offers a rich and complex, chalky and buttery nose with flavors of fresh mushrooms, honey, brittle and really ripe Chardonnay fruit. However, despite its richness, the wine indicates a great purity and elegance—and this is exactly what you get on the palate. Due to its shocking purity, this 2009 is incredibly fresh and seemingly light on the palate, but rich and complex at the same time. The finish is forcefully mineral, highly complex, salty and very, very long. It is provided with a piquant grip and mouthwatering lemon flavors in the aftertaste. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Colgin "Cariad" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99RP, 94VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2001 Cariad is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, primarily from two of David Abreu’s vineyard holdings in Napa Valley (Madrona Ranch and Thorevilos). Complex notes of burning embers, charcoal, red and black fruits, subtle oak, licorice and cedarwood soar from the glass of this highly perfumed, stunning wine. It has everything going for it, including a flawless, seamless style, remarkable balance, stunning concentration and a finish that lasts nearly a minute. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Syrah from Hors Catégorie is spectacular, bursting from the glass with a stunning bouquet of smoked charcuterie, blackberries, licorice, dried violets and rich forest floor. Structured around beautifully velvety tannins on the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and immensely concentrated, yet it manages to remain weightless. While there's plenty of fruit here, it's this Syrah's mouthwateringly savory qualities that define the protracted, penetrating finish and make the wine so exciting. Cropped at a mere 0.8 tons per acre from a steep hillside vineyard that's trained on stakes à la Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie, this was matured in neutral oak, with the exception of one second-fill puncheon that was eliminated after the first racking, demonstrating that when it comes to new oak and Syrah, less is emphatically more.
