Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Andremily "No. 5" Santa Barbara County Syrah ((98-100JD), (92-95VN)). Jeb Dunnuck: "Not yet bottled, the 2016 No. 5 is a similar blend and is 91% Syrah, 6% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier that will see just under two years in 70% new French oak. It offers slightly more stem characteristics with a La Mouline-like perfume of bacon fat, pepper, blackberries, earth, and chocolate. Deep, full-bodied, opulent and hedonistic, yet pure, elegant and structured, it's unquestionably another brilliant wine from Jim." (10/2018)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2016 Cayuse "Cailloux Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (98JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Syrah Cailloux Vineyard checks in as 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier that was fermented with roughly 70-80% stems and brought up in 15% new demi-muids and foudre. This beauty has incredible elegance and purity as well as full-bodied richness, complex notes of blackberry, cherries, stone hearth, decayed flowers, and salted meats, and a savory style that’s going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for 15 years or more. 2010 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Bryant Family Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 96VN, 95ST, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Teasing the taster with a possible three-digit perfection is the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill. This beauty shows lots of creme de cassis, blueberry liqueur, spring flower and forest floor notes in an opulent, full-bodied, powerful, dense, rich style buttressed by significant ripe tannins and decent acidity. Again, the striking purity and singular character of this Bryant Cabernet Sauvignon oozes potential as well as pedigree. This spectacular, young Cabernet should turn out to be one of the all-time great Bryant Cabernet Sauvignons, rivaling their 1997, but slightly more structured. Forget this one for 3-4 years and drink it over the following three decades. (RP)" (10/2013)

1986 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JG). John Gilman: "The 1986 Martha’s Vineyard is still an impressively young wine and a bit bound up in its adolescence crankiness at the present time, though the underlying quality here is quite evident. The nose offers up a deep mélange of black cherries, a bit of tariness, eucalyptus, cigar ash, fine soil tones, cedar and a topnote of Rutherford dust. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and still quite tight, with a rock solid core of fruit, moderate tannins, tangy acids and fine focus on the long and still quite closed finish. I may be underrating this vintage a tad, but the wine is still quite reticent and needs a handful more years of bottle age before it really starts to stir from its extended hibernation. 2010 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan (only 25% of the normal production or 250 cases were made) offers a remarkable suppleness and velvety character to the tannins. Despite being 100% Cabernet Sauvignon you would almost swear this was a Merlot-based wine from one of the finest vineyards in Pomerol given its lusciousness and appeal. This spectacular 2010 possesses abundant creamy creme de cassis notes intermixed with notions of mulberries and spicy oak and a broad, expansive, savory appeal with decent acidity as well as ripe tannin. As in nearly every vintage, this 2010 can be drunk early yet has the uncanny intensity and overall harmony to age effortlessly. We still don’t know how long this wine will last since the first vintage was only in 2000, which was not one of Napa’s greatest years. The 2010 should hold up for at least 20-30 years. (

Chocolate mousse and fruit. I am lost for words. Legendary 1950 all over again. Try it in 2020." (02/2012)

2016 Rivers-Marie "Lore Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Rivers-Marie "Lore Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 97VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Another legendary wine from Thomas Rivers Brown, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Lore Vineyard matches the perfect 2015 and is as good as Cabernet Sauvignon gets. Reminding me a great vintage of Schrader’s Old Sparky, its deep purple color is followed by a sumptuous, other-worldly bouquet of crème de cassis, blueberries, violets, spring flowers, and camphor. Full-bodied and powerful, it’s the purity of fruit, poise, and balance that make this wine so special. With fine tannins and no hard edges, it satisfies both the intellectual and hedonistic parts of the brain and is magical stuff. As with the Herb Lamb release, you can drink it any time over the coming 20-25+ years." (01/2019)

2002 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 94W&S, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This 2002 was virtually perfect when I tasted it in early May. Even better than I predicted seven years ago, this 4,500-case blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot has blossomed beautifully, revealing even greater intensity and potential than I predicted. A flawless, seamless integration of tannin, wood, alcohol and acidity is found in this dense, plum/purple-colored Dominus, along with copious notes of sweet black currants interwoven with kirsch, forest floor, unsmoked cigar tobacco, new saddle leather and forest floor. Full-bodied with velvety tannins, stunning elegance and a 45-second finish, this sensational 2002 rivals two of the all-time great wines made at Dominus, 1991 and 1994. Layer after layer of flavor saturates the palate in this opulent, full-throttle Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2007 possesses dazzling textural richness, depth and sheer intensity. Purists may prefer more structured vintages, but for a producer known for such slow maturing wines, the 2007 is a huge pleasure to taste today. (AG)" (12/2011)

The 2013 Bolgheri Superiore Ornellaia is an integrated and seamless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Alex Heinz tells me that 2013 was a difficult vintage especially towards the early part of the growing season. It balanced out during the summer and allowed for steady ripening of fruit before the harvest. But 2013 was not as hot as 2011 and 2012 overall, and this edition of Ornellaia is beautifully tonic and shapely as a result. C.V.N.E., Compañía Vinicola del Norte de España (The Northern Spanish Wine Company) or la Cuné, as it is commonly known in Haro, was created. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Monte Bello, 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot is simply magnificent. Layers of dark red fruit, flowers, spices and graphite are all woven together in this utterly impeccable wine. The 2009 is an especially huge, intense Monte Bello, yet a sexy, silky core of fruit lies within its imposing frame. Everything comes together in this glorious, radiant wine. Last year the 2009 had some pretty stiff competition from the 2010, but today it is simply firing on all cylinders. Eric Baugher describes 2009 as a year with cold weather early on, followed by heat in early June and July. The fruit was brought in on October 12, just before an intense downpour swept through the region. There is a purity and silkiness supported by structure in the 2009 that is impossible not to admire. 2007 Elio Grasso "Ginestra-Vigna Casa Mate" Barolo
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Elio Grasso "Ginestra-Vigna Casa Mate" Barolo (96RP, 95JS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The estate’s 2007 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Casa Mate is quite a bit fresher and firmer than the Gavarini. The exuberant personality of the vintage is also a bit more balanced and restrained. This is a beautifully layered, textured Ginestra Casa Mate endowed with endless layers of dark, mineral-infused, balsamic-tinged dark fruit, all of which flow through effortlessly to a long, sumptuous finish that lasts forever. The stunning bouquet, purity of the fruit and overall balance are simply breathtaking. The Ginestra Casa Mate will be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming years and decades. 2005 Anderson's Conn Valley "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Anderson's Conn Valley "Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is showing even better than it did last year, which is not unusual when tasting the wines of Todd Anderson and Mac Sawyer. Dense ruby/purple to the rim, with the classic Pauillac-like nose of creme de cassis, cedar wood, a hint of tobacco leaf, and very subtle smoke, the wine displays charcoal and roasted herbs, full-bodied power, wonderfully sweet tannins, and a long, long finish. This is a 20- to 25-year wine that should just get better and better as it ages, but it is accessible enough to drink now. (RP)" (12/2008)

Ripe, juicy and explosive to the core, the 2012 blossoms with notable depth and texture, all beautifully balanced by the salinity and structure of the coast. The style is bold, ripe and exuberant, with all the elements very nicely balanced. This sumptuous Pinot is going to offer a wide window of fabulous drinking pretty much upon release. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Paul Jaboulet Aîné "La Chapelle" Hermitage (97JD, 97RP, 95VN, 93JS, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first year where winemaker Caroline Frey really feels her organic farming drive paid off, the 2012 Hermitage la Chapelle is a gorgeous effort that shows the purity and texture of the vintage, as well as the class of the le Meal lieu-dit. Offering up classic black raspberry and sweet dark fruit, Asian spice, toasted bread, licorice and savory herbs, this beauty is full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and has enough tannic grip to demand 4-5 years of bottle age. Decadent and vastly complex, it opens with cassis, grilled meat, cedar, spicebox, cigar box and cheddar aromas, and then turns medium- to full-bodied in the mouth. Terrific black cherry, blackberry and cassis fruit, pure and refined. 2009 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2009 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Spätlese. According to importer Terry Theise: "The single greatest wine I tasted from the ’09 vintage. The greatest young Brücke I can remember... The word is sublime, and it’s the only word that will do. If it were music it would be described as luminous yet delicate, as if the overtones were muted and only the pure note showed through. Juicy, salty, doughy, silvery; dynamically serene; these are entering a place beyond most human understanding, well beyond the wines that put on a show for you. This channels some kind of cellular earth-memory, a quiet force of crucial truth. And it never lets up. I don’t know (and hardly care) how it will 'show' in tastings. Drink it when you have time and quiet to dream, and let it carry you."

Bid on this magnum of 2012 Corison Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 94JG, 92JS, 92VN, 90CG) in original wood. John Gilman: "I was very sorry to miss the opportunity to celebrate Cathy Corison’s twenty-fifth harvest, as the winery organized tastings on both the east and west coasts to commemorate the milestone by opening every vintage that she has produced at her own winery, and I was in Europe at the time of both events! In any event, her 2012 “Napa” cabernet sauvignon, which is her twenty-sixth vintage here, is really a beautiful wine, tipping the scales at a very refined 13.9 percent alcohol and offering up an utterly classic bouquet of red and black cherries, tobacco smoke, beautiful spice tones, a touch of currant leaf, Rutherford dust and a judicious framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and marvelously elegant, with a lovely core, superb soil signature, nascent complexity and excellent focus and grip on the very long, ripely tannic and impecc

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Favia "Cerro Sur" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95VN, 94JS, 94RP, 92WS). Vinous: "The 2014 Cerro Sur is gorgeous. Fresh, vibrant and beautifully delineated, the 2014 speaks to energy above all else. Floral notes from the Cabernet Franc give the wine its aromatic intensity and lift, but at the same time, the wine is weightless, precise and lifted. The 2014 could use another few years in bottle. Today, it is brisk and finely cut, not to mention striking in its beauty. Drinking window: 2018-2034 (AG)" (12/2016)

Ginger, orange blossom and candied lemon are some of the signatures, but above all else, the Hudson is a wine of vertical intensity and power. The wine gets better and better with time in the glass. Mark Aubert's Hudson Chardonnay comes from the parcel that David Ramey used to get, in what is considered the heart of the vineyard. (AG)" (02/2016)

2010 Bryant Family "DB4" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2010 Bryant Family "DB4" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2010 DB4 is insanely beautiful. Crushed rocks, plums, cinnamon and licorice jump from the glass from this striking, delineated wine. In 2010, the DB4 has a level of pure energy and vibrancy that is missing in the 2009, most likely because it also includes declassified lots from the Bettina. This is a great showing from Don Bryant and his team. In most cellars, the DB4 would be the top wine, but here it is the second label. Top flight Napa Cabernet is seldom inexpensive, but this is just about as good as it gets for the money. Drink 2015-2025. (AG)" (12/2012)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (97RP, 95ST, 94WE, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While I wasn’t able to taste the 2004, the 2005 James Berry Vineyard Bone Rock is a knockout. A blend of 93% Syrah and 7% Grenache that was aged in 500-liter French oak puncheons, it boasts a thrilling bouquet of cassis, lead pencil shavings, licorice and toasted spices. Seamless, pure and layered, with superb concentration and perfect balance, it has sweet tannin and an awesome finish. Give it a short decant if drinking anytime soon. 1976 San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri
Bid on this bottle of 1976 San Guido "Sassicaia" Bolgheri. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Our second bottle opened to a lingering sense of sweetness that appealed to all the senses. This is a smooth and beautifully aged wine that produces fine lines and a pleasing sense of simplicity. The complexity that the wine offers does comes from its cellar evolution. Dried fruit is followed by smoke, tar and powdered licorice. Having said that, this edition does offer integrity and lingering finesse. Drink through 2024. (ML)" (04/2017)

2014 Vérité "Le Désir" Sonoma County Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2014 Vérité "Le Désir" Sonoma County Bordeaux Blend (99JD, 98RP, 97JS, 97VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "A blend of 53% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance Malbec, the 2014 Le Desir is monumental stuff that has a Château Ausone-like character that’s hard to describe. its vibrant purple color is followed by a to-die-for bouquet of blackcurrants, black raspberries, cedar, tobacco leaf, and charcoal. This gives way to a concentrated, rich, yet incredibly delineated wine that has fine, fine tannin, notable freshness and purity, and a great finish. While blockbuster stuff, it’s for consumers with cold cellars and lots of patience. I’d hide bottles for 7-8 years and it’s going to keep for another 3+ decades." (12/2017)

2004 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 96WE, 93WS, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon St. Eden, which comes from a valley floor vineyard in Oakville, is another dead ringer for a great Pauillac, possibly a young Mouton. Dense bluish/purple in color with stunning notes of cedarwood, unsmoked high-quality cigar tobacco, creme de cassis and espresso roast, this wine has fabulous fruit, density and a full-bodied, youthful mouthfeel, wonderful balance and purity, and a terrific finish that goes on for close to a minute. This is also relatively open, but slightly more structured than the Melbury. There’s no sense deferring gratification, so I would suggest drinking it over the next 15-20 years, possibly longer. This is Carter’s plump Pomerol style of wine that is Petrus-like, with juicy, mocha, black cherry, blackcurrant fruit, luscious, sweet tannins, and a juicy, hedonistic mouthfeel and long finish. Vinous: "A total knock-out, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate captures all the potential of this great site. Powerful, voluptuous and structured, yet very much within the context of classicism that has defined these wines for several decades. Dark red cherry, stone fruits, smoke, licorice and scorched earth, along with beams of tannin, wrap around the palate. Deep, virile and explosive, the 2014 is a must have. Don't miss it!
