2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97WE, 95VN, 94CG, 94RP, 93WS). Wine Enthusiast: "Tasted in October, 2007, the wine was mute, offering little aromatically except for teasing notes of blackberries and oak. That shyness extended to the taste, where strong, hard tannins provide an almost impenetrable coat of armor to what’s inside. But right down the middle of the palate is a deep, intensely powerful stream of perfectly ripened cassis that’s all the proof you need of ageability. This is a magnificently structured young wine, reminiscent of a fine young Pauillac. Best after 2012, and should have another decade after that, at least. *Best of 2008. Cellar Selection*" (02/2008)

It's dramatic from the get-go, with rich, fine tannins framing extraordinarily good flavors of blackberries, black currants, anise, dark chocolate and cedar. Superb structure, great length and finish, with perfect acidity. A joy to drink." (02/2010)

2014 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault (1.5L) (OWC)
Bid on this magnum of 2014 Domaine Arnaud Ente Meursault (1.5L) (OWC - 91JG, 91VN) in original wood. Vinous: "(aged in two-year-old foudres and a single new barrel, which Ente referred to as "insignificant"): Complex scents of lemon, orange oil, nutmeg and mace, plus a hint of leesy hazelnut; a real essence of fresh village Meursault. Wonderfully suave and alive on the palate, with peach and orange flavors given a piercing quality by an element of dusty stone. Finishes bracing and long, with lovely salinity. (Ente's 2014 Bourgogne Chardonnay, while not as squeaky-clean as the 2015 version, delivers a tactile texture and lovely energy and lift to its flavors of lemon, lime and toasted-bread leesiness. It's an exceptional Bourgogne Blanc.) (ST)" (09/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Colgin "Tychson Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 98VN, 97WS, 93ST) in original wood. Vinous: "A big, vertical wine, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill is dark, powerful and explosive. Black cherries, savory herbs, smoke, licorice, tobacco, incense, lavender and a host of mineral-inflected notes all open as the 2001 captivates all the senses. Suggestions of melted road tar and smoke all contribute to the wine's brooding personality. The 2001 Tychson Hill has long been one of my favorite Colgin wines. Today, it is superb. (AG)" (04/2016)

It ratchets up everything found in the other two To-Kalon offerings revealing more perfume, cassis, body and finish. The result is an impressive wine that from magnum should last 30+ years. Of the 2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Blended of 81% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Touriga Nacional and 1% Graciano, sourced from 34% The Third Twin, 35% Eleven Confessions and 31% Cumulus (all estate vineyards), the provocative, inky purple colored 2014 Syrah Piranha Waterdance was made using 26% whole cluster and hits the scent scene with exuberant, pure crème de cassis, blackberry cordial and blueberry coulis notes with hints of espresso, licorice, garrigue and menthol, plus a gorgeous underlying perfume of red roses. Bid on this bottle of 2007 Domaine Armand Rousseau Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (96RP, 95JG, 95VN, 95WS, 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru is drinking beautifully at the moment. It has a pixilated bouquet that is utterly entrancing – red currant, bergamot, hints of pomegranate seeds and an underlying mineralite that is divine. The palate is perfectly balanced with extremely fine tannins. There is something regal and self-assured about this Clos-de-Beze, with a sense of weightlessness in the mouth that is bewitching. This both satisfies the senses and flirts with profundity. Dare I suggest this is too exquisite to cellar? Damn – I’ve just gone and done it. Drink now-2020. (NM)" (08/2013)

1991 Gentaz-Dervieux "Côte Brune - Cuvée Réservée" Côte-Rôtie
Bid on this bottle of 1991 Gentaz-Dervieux "Côte Brune - Cuvée Réservée" Côte-Rôtie (97JG, 94ST, 90RP). John Gilman: "I still have a few bottles of the 1991 Gentaz Côte Brune in my cellar and I will not be planning on opening a bottle for at least another five to ten years, as this is a remarkably young wine still at age twenty-two! The young and beautifully complex nose soars from the glass in a magical mélange of cassis, black pepper, smoked meats, stony soil tones, black raspberries and a smoky topnote redolent of bonfires. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with a very stony signature of soil, firm, ripe tannins and a very, very long, poised and youthful finish that still shows just a bit of its youthful stemminess. This will ultimately be one of the greatest vintages ever produced by Monsieur Gentaz in his long career, but I would definitely keep it tucked away in the cellar for several more years to come, as there are layers and layers of comp

2012 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Marcassin "Marcassin Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard, which will probably be released in a few months, displays great minerality, notes of honeysuckle, orange marmalade, poached pear, and white flowers as well as a touch of quince. A wine of great intensity, yet incredibly ethereal elegance, this light greenish gold-colored wine is full-bodied, stunningly rich, and altogether remarkable. When you consider that they use 100% new French oak and 100% heavy toast for both their Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, it is remarkable how little oak appears in these wines. This wine should age well for 10-15 years, as most of the Marcassin Estate Chardonnays have done to date. (RP)" (03/2016)

Wine Enthusiast: "Boasting an enviable combination of opulence and finesse, this opens with aromas of black plum, vanilla, baking spices and grilled herbs. The rich palate doles out plum cake, black cherry, black pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg alongside smooth, velvety tannins. Gripping intensity holds on through the long finish. Bid on this bottle of 2015 Christopher Tynan Wines "Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (98JD, 93RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Meleagris Gallopavo Vineyard comes from a site in the western hills above St. Helena and vines planted in the 1970s. Aged 20 months in a mix of new and neutral barrels, it just jumps from the glass with an exotic array of bloody blueberry and blackberry fruits, crushed smoke tobacco, menthol, cold fireplace, and damp earth/forest floor. This rich, opulent, exotic and singular beauty has a wealth of fruit and massive richness yet has the purity and approachability of the vintage front and center. It needs 7-8 years of bottle age and will have 3-4 decades of longevity. 98+" (01/2019)

Jeb Dunnuck: "This first growth terroir has yielded another perfect wine, and the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr Crane couldn’t be any better in this reviewer’s opinion. Possessing a Haut Brion-like minerality, tobacco, and fireplace aromatics, with thrilling fruit, this monumental effort hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, off-the-charts purity, a deep, layered, multi-dimensional texture, and incredible poise and precision. 1996 Krug Brut Champagne
Bid on this bottle of 1996 Krug Brut Champagne (100W&S, 99ST, 99WS, 98VN, 97JG, 97RP, 96DC). Wine & Spirits: "It's hard to imagine how a wine of this power can sustain perfect balance. What is now a more nonchalant intensity in the aroma was, in fact, too much to handle when we tasted this last year, as if the wine had no time for mere humans with their limited sense receptors. If you stop to taste ripe pear, ginger spice, apple blossom and butterscotch the wine leaves you lost in random flavor descriptors as it soars off into a vinous glow that lasts for minutes. This may well be the greatest vintage wine of Henri Krug's career (unless it is challenged by the 2002). It is impossible to predict how long this wine will thrive in bottle, though considering the current fine condition of the 1959 Krug, the first 50 years are a given." (12/2008)

2012 Continuum Oakville Bordeaux Blend (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2012 Continuum Oakville Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (97RP, 96JS, 94VN, 94WS, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is the first year that this wine was made from 100% estate-grown fruit from Continuum’s Sage Mountain vineyard. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot, the 2012 Proprietary Red has a deep garnet-purple color and gorgeous crème de cassis, exotic spices, fragrant earth and Christmas pudding notions with touches of chocolate box and licorice. The palate is full-bodied and deliciously concentrated, with a firm, grainy-textured backbone supporting the impressive mid-palate density, finishing very long and harmonious. (LPB)" (02/2019)

Resting at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains, Anomaly had its first harvest in 1997 and has not looked back since, creating fine cabernets from its stone winery in St. Helena. From the winery: "The 2010 Anomaly is complex both in aroma and in flavor. We are enthralled by dark notes of clove, tar, and anise in the bouquet. The mouthful is cool, elegant, and sturdy; it is replete with fresh fruit flavors of blackberry and plum. The wine has a gentle flow from front to back, buoyed by fresh acid and svelte tannins. The palate is fresh and vibrant; it reminds us of dark cherry, blackberry, and pomegranate. The wine is smooth throughout the palate; round, chewy tannins lend the wine structure and length. 2012 Anomaly "Designation" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Anomaly "Designation" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Anomaly is the project of Steve and Linda Goldfarb. After buying a Napa Valley with six rows of Cabernet, they became "accidental vintners" in their words. Twenty years later, this accident is now three blocks of impeccably managed vines and a wine that captures all the best of Napa Valley Cabernet. From the winery: "The 2012 Anomaly is an inviting wine; with warm spice notes of mahogany, nutmeg, and sage. The palate of the wine begins with rich cherry flavors and evolves seamlessly into darker notes of black currant and fruit compote. It is rich in stature, but graceful in its delivery. The tannins are fine grained, smooth and persistent, leading to a velvety and ridiculously long finish. Note from June 2019 tasting: Fun and flirty, with a juicy/seductive quality. This wine is super drinkable, however patience will be rewarded. Hold."

1955 Siran, Margaux
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1955 Siran, Margaux (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted from double magnum at the Academie du Vin dinner, the Château Siran 1955 put in a very creditable performance. The nose here is quite medicinal, with a strong camphor element combining nicely with the ripe mulberry and blackcurrant fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, but has real presence, not a shy or skeletal Margaux - but one with concentration and vigor, hints of fig and kirsch fanning out nicely on the finish. There is not great breeding or sophistication here, but even after 60 years, I happily finished the glass and the bottom line is that this is what counts above anything else. Tasted April 2015. 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2006 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98WE, 96RP, 95ST, 94WS). Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish. *Cellar Selection* (PG)" (03/2010)

2013 Realm "The Bard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Realm "The Bard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 93VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The perfect 2013 The Bard is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, coming from four vineyards that Realm uses consistently -- B Weitz, Houyi, Blair and of course, the Beckstoffer Dr. Crane in St. Helena. There are 950 cases of this extraordinary wine, which has it all. Notes of graphite, blackberries, roasted espresso and chocolate are followed by a wine of enormous, massive extraction, richness and intensity, but no hard edges. This seamless work of vinous haute couture is staggeringly rich, very long, but not the least bit heavy or overbearing. This is a killer effort that's already showing enormous complexity but should age effortlessly for 15 or more years. (RP)" (12/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2010 Chateau Montelena "Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94ST, 94VN, 93JS, 91WS). Vinous: "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is immediate, juicy and expressive in this vintage. At the same time, it seems pretty clear that the 2010 needs at least a few more years in bottle. Today, it is a bit disjointed as it is neither primary, nor showing too many tertiary notes or complexity. Sweet tobacco, leather, licorice, menthol and spices emerge over time, but the 2010 is a wine built for the cellar. There is plenty of density, but it needs time to emerge. (AG)" (11/2013)

2016 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 2016 Aubert "UV Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (100JD, 95RP, 94VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Leading off the Pinot Noirs, this is unquestionably the finest set of releases from the estate I’ve ever tasted, and it appears some of the magic Mark finds with his Chardonnays is finding its way over to the Pinot Noirs. The 2016 Pinot Noir UV Vineyard is 100% Calera clone (which reportedly comes from Vosne-Romanée) from a site in the Sonoma Coast and was brought up in 60-70% new French oak. It also saw around 10-20% whole clusters. Incredible ripe cherries, strawberries, exotic spices, blood orange, and floral notes all soar from this transparently colored, multi-dimensional, layered Pinot Noir that has no hard edges, ultra-fine tannin, and a finish that just won’t quit. It’s the finest Pinot Noir ever made from this address." (06/2018)

2003 Leonetti Columbia Valley Merlot
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2003 Leonetti Columbia Valley Merlot (95RP, 93WE, 90ST, 90W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Though I was not a fan of the 2002, I was enraptured by the 2003 Merlot. Chocolate, cassis liqueur, cherries jubilee, spices, and violets are found in its magnificent aromatics. Aged in 80% new oak (of which 80% is French and the balance Pennsylvanian), this concentrated gem slathers the palate with black raspberries, spices, copious quantities of cherries, and blackberries that envelope its significant tannin. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Carter "Beckstoffer To Kalon-The Grand Daddy" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As for the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard The Grand Daddy, I’d love to say that we seem to be at that three-digit magical number again. Unbelievable notes of road tar, truffle, blackberry, cassis and charcoal embers soar from the glass of this inky purple-colored wine. Stunningly full-bodied, rich and multi-dimensional, it’s another skyscraper constructed by the genius of Carter Cellars. This is unreal stuff. Drink it over the next 30+ years. (RP) 98+" (12/2015)

2016 Ovid Experiment "C4.6" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Ovid Experiment "C4.6" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Winemaker's notes: "Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon has a long and mysterious history here in California. It originally arrived in Napa Valley from Mendoza, Argentina in 1964. How it made its way to South America is still unclear, presumably with French winemakers who were leaving Bordeaux in the late 1800s as phylloxera was devastating the region. Arriving mislabeled as Merlot, its storied past was off to an intriguing start. Clone 4 was fairly quickly recognized as Cabernet Sauvignon and has been viewed as an excellent selection ever since. Intrigued by the mysterious combination of clone and site, we find this single selection of Cabernet offers a dense nose of fresh blackberry, cassis, black cherry, cola and dark chocolate. Rich and burnished, this particular expression is utterly delicious."

2002 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2002 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 94W&S, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This 2002 was virtually perfect when I tasted it in early May. Even better than I predicted seven years ago, this 4,500-case blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Merlot has blossomed beautifully, revealing even greater intensity and potential than I predicted. A flawless, seamless integration of tannin, wood, alcohol and acidity is found in this dense, plum/purple-colored Dominus, along with copious notes of sweet black currants interwoven with kirsch, forest floor, unsmoked cigar tobacco, new saddle leather and forest floor. Full-bodied with velvety tannins, stunning elegance and a 45-second finish, this sensational 2002 rivals two of the all-time great wines made at Dominus, 1991 and 1994. It is hard to believe that proprietor Christian Moueix’s Dominus Estate has already celebrated its 25th anniversary and is moving toward 30

Bid on this bottle of 2013 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne-Romanée ((90-92VN)). Vinous: "The 2013 Vosne-Romanée is a real overachiever at this level. Dark red cherry, plum, spice, orange peel and mint open up in a surprisingly pliant, expressive wine for the year. The balance of fruit intensity and energy is compelling. The Liger-Belair wines are all made in tiny amounts and competition for them is fierce. If there is one of the less expensive wines to look for in 2013, it is the 2013 Vosne-Romanée villages. The Vosne is a blend of fruit from eleven parcels. (AG)" (04/2015)

Compelling aromas of black cherry, black raspberry, smoke, earth and Cuban tobacco. Sweeter and more expressive today than the Sea Ridge Meadow bottling, with fresh, sharply delineated red and black fruit flavors complicated by mineral and gamey nuances. Very serious and very long on the back end, with lovely lingering perfume of red berries, game and minerals. (ST)" (05/2004)

Of the 2012 Saxum "Terry Hoage" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Just bottled five weeks ago, the 2012 Terry Hoage Vineyard (330 cases) is a thrilling blend of 51% Syrah, 31% Grenache and 18 % Mourvedre. It has an up front approachable and sexy feel in its cherry blossom and black raspberry fruit, crushed flowers and spice aromas and flavors. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the highest density vineyard planted under the Cayuse label, the 489-case 2014 Syrah Armada Vineyard is about as umami and earthy as it gets. Smoke, fireplace, mushroom, black cherry, currants and olive notes all emerge from this rich, backward, tight and structured Syrah that has incredible purity of fruit, a saline/bloody, meaty character that develops with time in the glass, and tons of tannic bite on the finish. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2011 No Girls "La Paciencia Vineyard" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (95RP, 94WE, 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the same mold, with the buzzwords being finesse and elegance, the 2011 Syrah La Paciencia Vineyard offers textbook pepper, olive tapenade, smoke and crunchy berry fruits in its medium to full-bodied, seamless and beautifully textured profile. Showing impressive complexity and already hard to resist, I-d lean towards drinking bottles over the coming decade as well. Distinctly different from both the Cayuse and Horsepower releases, winemaker Elizabeth Bourcier continues to fine-tune these No Girls releases and they always show a perfumed, lively style that-s hard to resist. They all come from the La Paciencia Vineyard, which is located in The Rocks around the town of Milton-Freewater, and all of the wines see only neutral oak. (JD)" (06/2014)

2015 Rhys "Porcupine Hill" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Rhys "Porcupine Hill" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir (96JD, 95RP, 95VN, 94JG). Jeb Dunnuck: "From the same vineyard as the Bearwallow cuvee, the 2015 Pinot Noir Porcupine Hill comes from newer, high density plantings checking in at a seriously packed 17,000 vines per hectare. It’s one of most seamless, sexy, yet still balanced and classic wines I’ve tasted from Kevin and his team. Black raspberries, framboise, rose garden, violets and loads of spice all flow to an incredibly textured, seamless, perfectly ripe Pinot Noir that has silky tannin and a great finish. The tannin quality is what really separates this cuvee from the straight vineyard release, and it’s a more polished, elegant wine that’s going to age beautifully. " (08/2017)

2009 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Peter Michael "Point Rouge" Sonoma County Chardonnay (95ST, 94RP). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Hazy gold. High-pitched aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and quince, with deeper notes of toasty lees and honey adding power. Densely packed lemon curd and orchard fruit flavors are underscored by a zesty mineral quality and show impressive precision. The minerality dominates the long, chewy, finely etched finish, which leaves a sexy floral note behind. This should age slowly; Nic Morlet told me that he left just one cluster of grapes per Chardonnay shoot in 2009 and that almost no sulfur was used to make this wine. (ST)" (06/2011)

2007 Sine Qua Non "Pictures" Grenache

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 87% Grenache, 11.5% Syrah, and 1.5% Viognier, this wine has wonderful floral notes intermixed with black raspberries, black cherries, licorice, graphite and some camphor. In the mouth, more white chocolate notes appear, along with meatiness and some silky tannins. Its great purity, density and richness make me think this wine could even improve a few points and flirt with perfection. This stunning wine should drink nicely for another 10-15 years. Then Mayacamas Chardonnay is given several rackings and a light fining during the next six months of aging in 600 to 1,200 gallon American oak casks. A year of aging in 60 gallon French oak barrels precedes bottling. These wines usually reach maturity at five to eight years of age but some hold near their peak for many more years.
