1995 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage (97RP, 97VN, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up and showing more minerality, structure and length, with a masculine style, the 1995 Hermitage is drinking beautifully today. Described as disappointing by Jean-Louis over the past 5 years or so, it appears to be opening up and possesses fabulous, liquid rock-like qualities to go with cassis, blackberry and wild herbs. Medium to full-bodied, fabulously textured, rich and stretching out nicely on the finish, enjoy this beauty over the coming decade. (JD)" (08/2014)

1986 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1986 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (98RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the château, the 1986 Lafite-Rothschild continues to offer an exquisite bouquet at 30 years of age. This is beautifully defined, still full of energy, with copious blackberry, clove, leather and graphite aromas that seem to gain momentum in the glass. The palate is extremely well balanced with a crystalline quality, filigree tannin, perfectly pitched acidity, a quintessential Lafite-Rothschild with a sense of energy and focus undiminished by time. This finish displays immense purity and refinement, one of the most mineral-driven Lafites that I have encountered, whilst the aftertaste seems to linger for over one minute. It must rank as one of the finest wines from the estate. (NM)" (12/2016)

2013 McGrail Vineyards "Reserve" Livermore Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 McGrail Vineyards "Reserve" Livermore Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. McGrail Vineyards is a family owned winery that specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon. They are located in the heart of the Livermore Valley Wine Country and are proud to be part of one of the oldest California Wine Regions. Jim and Ginger McGrail planted the Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in 1999. By 2005, the McGrail's were starting production on 1,000 cases of wine. Winery note: "Our 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is bursting with aromas and flavors. This opulent wine opens with spicy clove, dark cherry, cassis, caramel, and toasty vanilla. The palate is equally impressive with density, great structure, and notes of blackberry, anise, and a hint of tobacco. Bold tannins frame the full-bodied mouthfeel of this classic Cabernet, leaving a lingering impression of fruit and spice."

1961 Palmer, Margaux (Berry Bros & Rudd)
Bid on this bottle of 1961 Palmer, Margaux (Berry Bros & Rudd) (100JG, 100RP, 98ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Château Palmer vertical in London, two bottles of 1961 Château Palmer were opened and compared. The first was a great bottle of wine, beautifully balanced and complex, and yet not quite living up to its status as one of the legendary bottles of the 20th century. That said, I still scored it around the 96 or 97 point mark. The second lived up to the billing. Coming from the late great John Avery's cellar, that is to say, purchased on release and never moved, the first difference is the slightly deeper color compared to the first bottle. The bouquet is difficult to capture in words. Heavenly, ethereal, moving and profound - they are all applicable here. It is still a wine in its prime, with dark berry fruit, hints of graphite and mineral, a touch of wilted violet petals. Its ineffable purity knocks you sideways. The palate is defined by its filigree framework

1974 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 1974 Heitz Cellar "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (98RP, 97JG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I had this wine twice over a period of thirty days, rating it an astounding 99 and 98 points. A monumental California Cabernet Sauvignon, it appears to have approached its plateau of maturity but should easily last for 20-25 more years. There is no rust, amber, or brown to the saturated dark purple color. The spectacular, huge, Mouton-Rothschild-like nose of mint, cassis, lead pencil, and toast is remarkably youthful. Staggeringly concentrated, this full-bodied, super-rich wine possesses moderate tannin, fresh, lively acidity, and a blockbuster, rich, fleshy finish. This is a monumental effort! (RP)" (08/1994)

2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The riveting 2007 Howell Mountain exhibits aromas of black raspberries, blueberries, crushed rocks and flowers along with full-bodied power accompanied by an ethereal delicacy and sublimity that make it a haunting wine to smell and taste. It should drink well for 25+ years. I am increasingly impressed with Abreu’s Howell Mountain Proprietary Red wine. The blend tends to be about two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, 20-25% Cabernet Franc and 10-15% Merlot and Petit Verdot. A completely different animal than the Cappella or Madrona Ranch (which both come from lower elevation vineyards), this cuvee reveals extraordinary notes of crushed rocks and a liqueur of minerals in a steely, full-bodied, powerful style that possesses both intensity and finesse. James Suckling: "The purity of fruit here is impressive, with raspberry, iodine and hints of mussel shell. Créme de framboise. Full body with firm, silky tannins and a long finish. The aromatics are crazy here. Great tannin structure. The finish comes out of nowhere with aniseed." (10/2014)

Wine Enthusiast: "A stupendous wine that epitomizes the Harlan style of grace and power. Shows how the most elaborate vineyard and winery practices can contribute to a near-perfect wine, even in a less heralded vintage. The flavors cascade in endless tiers, black currant, cherry, mocha, Indian pudding, oak and spice, all coming together in a minute-long finish. Magnificent. *Cellar Selection* " (11/2004)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Dalla Valle "Maya" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 98RP, 97WS, 96VN, 94ST) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Maya borders on perfection. Its dense plum/ruby/purple color is followed by abundant aromas of graphite, blueberry liqueur, hoisin sauce, smoked meats and red and black fruits. The extraordinary aromatics give way to a full-bodied, stunningly concentrated wine with everything in balance, fabulous density and richness, and a finish that lasts nearly 60 seconds. This is unquestionably one of the all-time great Mayas. In keeping with the exuberance and flamboyance of this vintage, it is approachable now, but should age effortlessly for 30+ years. Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Widowmaker En Chamberlin Vineyard offers a ruby/plum color to go with a singular bouquet of lavender, crème de cassis, campfire, and truffle. It’s medium to full-bodied, silky, and elegant on the palate, with a rounded, sexy texture and perfect balance. Dark, sensual and beautifully layered in the glass, the 1985 is one of the more voluptuous Dunn Cabernets of this era. Graphite, smoke, licorice and graphite add nuance, while silky tannins add to an overall impression of finesse. This is another dazzling wine from Randy Dunn. Bid on this bottle of 2016 Sine Qua Non "Deux Grenouilles" White Blend (97JD, 94RP, 94VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Deux Grenouilles is another brilliant white from this estate. Based on 36% Roussanne, 29% Chardonnay, 23% Viognier, and the balance Petite Manseng and Muscat, brought up 48% new French oak (the balance is in neutral oak and concrete eggs). This rich, full-bodied, incredibly elegant white offers up a smorgasbord of buttered citrus, orange blossom, flower oil, and honeyed minerality. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (96W&S, (93-95RP), 94JS, 94VN). Wine & Spirits: "The cool 2011 season turned out a pristine vintage of Monte Bello, made from Cabernet (88 percent) grown on a limestone-inflected ridge high above Silicon Valley, blended with some Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The team at Ridge let the fruit recover for two weeks following an early October storm before picking, and were more aggressive in their extraction than normal, drawing as much color and structure as possible from the delicate fruit. The aromas revolve around oak at first—anise, wood smoke, cedar bark and cinnamon—but the wood’s contribution is fine and integrated, shading gradually toward bright fruit as the finish lengthens with floral aromas and the tang of tiny, concentrated black currants. It’s even better with a day of air, as the tannins turn to velvet, allowing red-fruited acidity to take the lead and brighten the wine’s sav

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Sine Qua Non "Résisté" Central Coast Proprietary White (97RP, 92VN). 2012 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 94WE, 93VN, 92CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon One Pint Five is a big-time winner, a blend of almost all Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine has an opaque bluish/purple color, almost indigo, and is full-bodied with dense chocolaty crème de cassis notes, licorice and a touch of minerality. The wine has well-integrated wood, is full and seems balanced and rich enough to age for two decades or more. Year in year out, this is one of the superstar wineries, not only in Napa Valley and all of California, but in the entire world. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this magnum of 2012 Joseph Phelps "Backus" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97VN, 95JS, 95RP, (92-95ST)). Vinous: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Backus Vineyard has really blossomed over the last year. A glorious, towering Cabernet Sauvignon offers super depth an intensity, with the voluptuous personality of the vintage on full display. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, mocha and espresso all flesh out in the glass. The Backus is not as open nor expressive as the Insignia is today, but it is tremendous in its beauty and overall pedigree. This is a terrific example of contemporary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This is the last vintage made from the vineyards that were planted in 1975. (AG)" (10/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2001 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (OWC - 96JD, 96JS, 96RP, 93WS, 92VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel has been on a terrific qualitative roll over the last four vintages, and the 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape (which Francois Perrin feels is similar to the 1990, although I don’t see that as of yet) is a 15,000-case blend of 30% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise, and the balance split among the other permitted varietals of the appellation. This inky/ruby/purple-colored cuvee offers a classic Beaucastel bouquet of new saddle leather, cigar smoke, roasted herbs, black truffles, underbrush, and blackberry as well as cherry fruit. It is a superb, earthy expression of this Mourvedre-dominated cuvee. Full-bodied and powerful, it will undoubtedly close down over the next several years, not to re-emerge for 7-8 years. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Still a young wine at age 12, the 2001 Insignia exhibits a dense purple color along with a sweet bouquet of camphor, blackberries, cassis, incense and spring flowers. Full-bodied, rich and heady with sweet tannin, stunning concentration and a fabulous finish, this remarkable Insignia has 25 or more years of life ahead of it. (RP) 98+" (11/2013)

Give it two or three years to come together, but hard to hold back." (06/2011)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Hundred Acre "Kayli Morgan" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 98RP, 93ST, 92VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard opens with wonderfully earthy, savory notes of truffles, black olives, charcuterie and fertile loam with a core of blackberry preserves, mincemeat pie and blueberry compote with hints of Indian spices, cardamom and scorched earth. The full-bodied palate is completely jam-packed with black fruit preserves and spicy nuances, with a very long, savory finish. (LPB)" (12/2018)

2007 Capanna Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Capanna Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (98WE, 95RP, 94JS). Wine Enthusiast: "An amazing and impressive feat of winemaking, this riserva is so tightly wound with gorgeous aromatic intensity, it peels back, layer after layer, and evolves smoothly the more you leave it in the glass. Not drinking it immediately is difficult because of the delicious quality of fruit on display here and the lush, soft mouthfeel, but this should be at its best after 2018. *Cellar Selection*" (05/2013)

1995 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1995 Philip Togni Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96VN, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Philip Togni is one of California’s most foresighted winemakers, holding back a small amount of wine and releasing it at age ten. This year, small quantities of the 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate were released, and, as I almost invariably do, I rated it higher than I did initially. It is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon that apparently turns to Bordeaux for elegance, structure, and complexity, yet retains Napa’s extraordinarily sweet, rich, concentrated fruit. This profound 1995 still tastes like an adolescent. For my palate, it will benefit from another 4-5 years of bottle age, and should last easily for another 20-25 years. It is unquestionably one of California’s as well as the world’s greatest Cabernet Sauvignons. (RP)" (12/2005)

It's very well put together; all it needs is the complexity and pizzazz that comes with cellaring." (05/1989)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Ovid "Experiment No. G8.1" Napa Valley Red Blend. Vinous: "Ovid was another of the many highlights of my fall trips to Napa Valley. The estate has done a magnificent job with their new and upcoming releases. Winemaker Austin Peterson describes 2010 as the coldest vintage ever on the estate, even moreso than 2011. As for the wines, well, they are magnificent. It's as simple as that. Proprietors Mark Nelson and Dana Johnson and their team led by Managing Partner Janet Pagano are all about attention to detail and focus. The vineyard was developed by David Abreu and planted in small one acre parcels that are picked and vinified separately in small tanks built to match the size of the blocks. Winemaker Austin Peterson is one of the emerging stars in Napa Valley, and he has the support of consulting winemaker Andy Erickson. The results are in the bottle. (AG)" (11/2013)

2014 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2014 Kosta Browne "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (94RP, 90VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Coming from steep, rocky soils on the Sonoma Coast, the 2014 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard was brought up in 25% new French oak, 16% concrete and the rest in old barrels. All of the Pinot Noirs here go into barrel dry and see malolactic fermentation in barrel. This fabulous beauty gives up notes of black cherries, spring flowers, violets and spice in a medium-bodied, ultra-pure, seamless and elegant package that will benefit from short term cellaring and then cruise for a decade on its impeccable balance. This was another rock star lineup from Kosta Browne and it’s certainly one of the most impressive lineups I tasted all year. And while I generally consider 2013 to be a better vintage than 2014, these 2014s are a step up over last year’s releases, which were no slouches either. The estate continues to use moderate amounts of whole clusters

Bid on this bottle of 2015 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Goulots" ((91-93BH), (91-93VN), (90-92RP)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: " An attractively fresh nose features cool and relatively high-toned red cherry, pomegranate and hints of the sauvage and humus. The mouth feel of the precise, intense and much more mineral-driven medium weight flavors is notably finer though they don't possess the same richness or seductive texture, all wrapped in a saline and impressively persistent finish where a hint of bitter cherry emerges." Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99RP, 95DC, 93VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christian Moueix and his talented winemaking team continue to rewrite the definition of a Napa Valley reference point wine. I have had a difficult time keeping the corks in my bottles of 1994 Dominus. Eight-thousand cases were produced from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. In this vintage, 174 days passed between bud break and the harvest, a remarkable period of time for any wine region in the world. The 1994 is a strikingly thick, compellingly rich wine with the texture of a great Pomerol, despite being made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine exhibits a dense purple color, and an incredibly fragrant nose of jammy black fruits, spice, smoke, and loamy, truffle-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or ha

Bid on this bottle of 1961 l'Eglise Clinet (A&R Barriere), Pomerol (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another great showing for this under-rated estate, the 1961 L'Eglise-Clinet displayed a saturated, opaque garnet color with some amber/rust at the edge. A huge nose of soy sauce, grilled meats, mocha, chocolate, and jammy cherry fruit is followed by a full-bodied wine with excellent richness, length, and balance. 2001 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2001 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2001 Thorevilos is another example of what may well be Napa Valley’s version of Ausone, and one of the single greatest vineyard sites in California. One could say this is world-class, but it’s really all-universe. A tour de force in winemaking, with notes of blueberry liqueur intermixed with subtle white chocolate, espresso roast, cassis, blackberry and perfumed, floral notes, it is full-bodied, with great flavor purity, a skyscraper-like texture, and a remarkable finish, with a seamless integration of all component parts. This is extraordinary wine that everyone who loves wine should at least taste once or twice in their lifetime. Both of these wines are adolescents, and probably won’t peak for another 5-8 years and keep for 30-40. (RP)" (06/2011)

2011 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The impressive 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard is one of the richest of Schrader’s 2011s. Thomas Brown told me that this particular block was picked before the heavy rainfalls arrived and production was a minuscule three-quarters of a ton per acre. Hence, only 52 cases were made. It is a big, rich, atypical wine for a 2011. Year-in and year-out this is one of the most interesting as well as fascinating group of wines and projects in Napa Valley. First, Schrader has two committed owners, secondly a brilliant winemaker in Thomas Brown, and thirdly, one of the true first-growth vineyard sites in all of Napa Valley, the famed Beckstoffer-owned To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. 1978 Figeac, St. Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 1978 Figeac, St. Emilion (90RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at the Château Figeac vertical at the property, the 1978 Figeac is clearly better than the 1979 and puts in a very commendable performance here. It is similar in color to the 1979, but the nose is fresher and more vital: Provençal herbs, a tinge of dried blood plus vestiges of red berry fruit. Yes, it is a little leafy, but it is exactly what you would expect from the 1978. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine acidity, plenty of blood orange and brown spices, cohesive with more weight and harmony than the succeeding vintage. "Old school" for sure, but at 37 years of age, this is a match for the Cheval Blanc 1978 that I tasted two months before this. (NM)" (08/2016)

Bid on this magnum of 2009 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (1.5L) ((96-97JS), 97RP, 97VN, 93ST, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Moving on to the vineyard designated Syrahs and a fantastic vintage for this cuvee, which goes back to the 2005, 2006 and 2007 levels of richness, the 2009 Syrah Reva (100% Syrah aged 42-months in French oak) offers up more fruit and purity than normal, with only hints of its normal iodine/seaweed tinged profile. Loaded with sweet black raspberry, cassis, wild herbs, flowers and subtle blood and iodine qualities, it is a full-bodied, decadent Syrah that has incredible mid-palate depth, beautiful freshness and a blockbuster finish. It will continue to gain in depth and richness with short-term cellaring and have an easy 12-15 years or ultimate longevity. Drink 2015-2024. (JD)" (08/2013)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Ponsot's 2001 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is going from strength to strength, and this bottle was showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with notes of red plums, smoked duck, cherries, spices, mustard seed and potpourri. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with chalky but melting tannins, tangy acids and a long, stony finish. Somewhat rustic in profile, it isn't the most elegant vintage of Ponsot's Clos de la Roche, but it's beginning to drink well today. (WK)" (10/2018)

Black raspberries, cassis, roasted herbs, violets, and loads of toasted spice give way to a full-bodied, beautifully textured 2015 that has sweet tannin and a great finish.
