Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (100RP, 98JS, 97WE, 96VN, 96WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 Lafite Rothschild comes as close to perfection as any of the great Lafites made over the past three decades (1982, 1986, 1996, 2000, 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010). This sensational effort came in at 12.7% natural alcohol, it is made in the style of one of this estate’s great classics, the 1959. Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it exhibits a dense ruby/purple color to the rim along with a luxurious bouquet of cedarwood, lead pencil shaving, white chocolate, cocoa and cassis. Fat, rich, opulent and full-bodied with low acidity and stunning seductiveness and complexity, this noble wine possesses a bountiful, generous, heady style. It is just coming into its plateau of maturity where it should hold for 20-25 years. This is one of the candidates for the wine of the vintage – make no mistake about that.
Starting Bid: $2,040.00

Bid on this 375 ml 2-bottle lot of 2010 Rudd "Oakville Estate" Oakville Bordeaux Blend (375ml) (94RP, 93VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "More serious, substantial and complex is the 2010 Oakville Estate, a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot and Malbec. This 1,000+-blend was aged in 100% new oak. It exhibits attractive notes of spring flowers, forest floor, licorice, black currants and graphite as well as medium to full-bodied, seriously endowed, beautifully pure and textured fruit notes offered in this stylish, classy, noble wine. It can be enjoyed for two decades. (RP)" (10/2013)

Of the 2010 Gramercy Walla Walla Valley Syrah,Wine Enthusiast writes: "This classy Syrah opens with a note of pretty funkiness, wrapped around stiff, tight, rather herbal flavors. The berry flavor is ripe but in no way jammy. Here the emphasis is on nuance, earthiness and herbal details. *Cellar Selection* (PG) " (12/2012)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Tablas Creek "Esprit de Beaucastel" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (95JD, 95RP, 94ST, 94WS, 93IWR). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The prodigious 2007 Esprit de Beaucastel is a blend of 44% Mourvedre, 29% Grenache, 21% Syrah, and the rest Counoise. A very great wine, very much in the mold of its French cousin, Chateau Beaucastel, the wine has a saturated ruby/purple color and a gorgeous nose of melted licorice, charcoal, blueberry, and blackberries intermixed with freshly sliced mushrooms, tree bark, and pepper. Spicy, dense, full-bodied, and extraordinarily complex, yet at the same time well-delineated and fresh, it should drink well for 10-15+ years. (RP)" (08/2010)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Wattle Creek Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Select is another gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley. With supple, sweet tannins, loads of blueberry, blackberry and cassis, a full-bodied mouthfeel, much sweeter tannin than in Wattle Creek’s other Cabernet Sauvignons, a multi-layered, full-bodied texture and length, the purity, richness and intellectual appeal are all there. (RP)" (03/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot, including 1-bottle of 2013 Clos du Val Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95VN, 92JS) and 1-bottle of 2013 Familiar Air Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (90RP). Of the 2013 Clos du Val Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Vinous writes: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is striking. Powerful and dense in the glass, with utterly mesmerizing balance, the 2013 hits all the right spots. Graphite, smoke, grilled herbs, black cherries and incense form a tapestry of aromas and flavors that simply dazzles. The 2013 needs time in bottle for the tannins to soften, but it is a real head-turner. The combination of intense tannin and opulent fruit is classic 2013. (AG) 95+" (11/2015)
Starting Bid: $80.00

Bid on this magnum of 2014 Morlet "La Proportion Dorée" Sonoma County White Blend (1.5L) (100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A perfect wine is the 2014 La Proportion Dorée, a blend of 65% Semillon, 24% Sauvignon Blanc and 1% Muscadelle. This 650-case cuvée is from 29-year-old, dry farmed vines and was barrel-fermented. The wine is absolutely out of this world. With a light greenish gold color and a killer nose of lanolin, caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, orange marmalade and candle wax, the wine displays great acidity, a magnificent, massive, full-bodied mouthfeel, and seems to come across like a Sonoma County version of a dry Haut Brion blanc. This is singular wine - profound, compelling, whatever! It should drink well for at least 10 years, if you can resist its early charms. (RP)" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $305.00

Bid on this 3 liter 1-bottle lot of 1980 Diamond Creek "Volcanic Hill" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (3L). Wine Spectator: "Dark in color, mature yet rich and earthy, with layers of currant, leather, mineral and sage, finishing with firm but rounded tannins. (JL)" (02/2001)
Starting Bid: $500.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing! (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $450.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2007 Sojourn "Gap's Crown Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (95WS, 92CG). (JL)" (06/2009)

Bid on this bottle of 2007 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96JD, 96RP, 96WS, 94ST, 94W&S, 93WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Beaucastel’s 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape has turned out even better out of bottle than I predicted. An inky/ruby/purple color is followed by a glorious nose of blue and black fruits, truffles, pen ink, licorice, and meat juices as well as glorious levels of acidity and sweet tannin, buttressing the fruit’s fabulous freshness and vibrancy. This full-bodied effort still displays considerable tannin, no doubt because of the relatively high Mourvedre content. (RP)" (10/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012-2013 Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Lot, including 2-bottles of 2012 Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94WS) and 1-bottle of 2013 Lewis Cellars "Mason's" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92WS). Of the 2012 Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Wine Spectator writes: "Beautifully crafted, rich and layered, this offers tiers of currant, blackberry, mocha, espresso and vanilla notes. The flavors slowly build depth while retaining an elegant mouthfeel, ending with a long, persistent finish that keeps echoing the core components. (JL)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Rudd "Oakville Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (99RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The finest Rudd Estate Proprietary Red Rudd has yet made is the 2008. A blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, 14% Petit Verdot and 14% Malbec, it offers up aromas of blue and black fruits, charcoal, white chocolate and flowers. The soaring aromatics are followed by a wine with fabulous concentration, a seamless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and wood, a brilliant texture, a fabulous personality and loads of complexity as well as full-bodied richness. This potentially legendary proprietary red already possesses remarkably sweet tannin. ... Bravo! (RP)" (12/2010)
Starting Bid: $390.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Ornellaia" Bolgheri Superiore (94WE, 93RP, 93ST, 92VN, 90WS). Wine Enthusiast: "Deep and delicious, with an earth-driven nose that conveys quality. Chunky plum pervades the chewy, dark palate, which offers a gorgeous mouthfeel and admirable depth. Only on the finish do you get a slight hint of oak. Overall it’s entirely solid and very likable, but as good as it is, it’s not quite on the level of the ’98 or ’99, which were amazing. *Cellar Selection* (MS)" (11/2003)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 1958 Giuseppe Contratto Barolo. Contratto was founded in 1867 by Giuseppe Contratto and the winery is known as the oldest producer of sparkling wine in Italy (they also made red wines, obviously). In fact, the "Metodo Classico" 1919 Contratto Extra Brut was the first vintage sparkling wine ever made in the country. The winery has a long, distinguished history. At the turn of the 20th century, its wines were leaving Canelli for destinations all over the world (predominantly to royal houses), and Contratto was the personal supplier to the Vatican as well as to the Italian Royal Family. Awards and medals from international exhibitions and contests of the time emphasize why the name of Contratto has long been synonymous with prestige and quality.
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Elderton Shiraz Barossa Valley South Australia (93RP, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1997 Shiraz performed splendidly. This opaque purple-colored wine offers up plenty of sweet blackberry and cassis fruit with a touch of overripe cherries, smoke, and charcoal. This multidimensional, layered, luscious, low acid, toasty Shiraz is made in an obvious, fat, hedonistic style. (RP)" (02/2000)
Starting Bid: $50.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1982 Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (98DC, 98JS, 97JG, 96ST, 95RP, 95WS). James Suckling: "This is a phenomenal 1982 and it remains the most drinkable of the first growths. A strong iodine character here enveloped by delicious currants, shaved chocolate and spices. Full body with super-integrated tannins and a refined texture. Wonderful balance." (06/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Bartolo Mascarello Barolo (97VN, 96RP, 96WE, 93ST). Vinous: "Mascarello’s 2007 Barolo shows just how compelling this vintage can be, even now. Sensual, layered and totally voluptuous in the glass, the 2007 shows the more flamboyant side of Barolo. I find the wine’s voluptuous, engaging personality impossible to resist. Sure, 2007 is not a classic vintage, but when a wine is this good, I say: Who cares? (AG)" (07/2016)
Starting Bid: $420.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Lynch-Bages, Pauillac (96JS, 96W&S, 96WE, 96WS, 94DC, 93ST, 92RP). Wine Enthusiast: "Classic Lynch-Bages with just a bit of extra power and richness. While the tannins are structured, it is the velvety fruit that rolls around the mouth that is the most dominant character. It is coming together into a wine that will be big and dense, but never over the top. (RV)" (06/2008)

Bid on this 9-bottle lot of 2012 Tenuta di Arceno "Il Fauno di Arcanum" Toscana.

Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier comes from a hillside in Knights Valley and is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. It offers sensational notes of crème de cassis, graphite, camphor, and loamy earth characteristics, full body, incredible elegance and purity, and a building sense of minerality on the finish. It’s both powerful and elegant, and already impossible to resist." (06/2018)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2008 Copain "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah ((91-93RP), 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark purple hued 2008 Syrah James Berry Vineyard is tightly-knit and restrained, but with coaxing, it offers up scents of creme de cassis, blueberries, melted asphalt, and charcoal. Its impressive texture, stunning richness, and good underlying minerality suggest this brilliant Syrah will evolve for a decade or more." (02/2010)
Starting Bid: $210.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1991 Ravenswood "Pickberry" Sonoma Mountain Bordeaux Blend (92RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1991 Pickberry Proprietary Red Wine (a blend of approximately two-thirds Merlot and the reminder mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a tiny dollop of Cabernet Franc) is another great success for this luxury-priced proprietary wine. The opaque ruby/purple color is followed by intense aromas of chocolate, cassis, herbs, and meaty scents. Deep and full-bodied, with high tannin, fine acidity, and superb richness... Although most consumers are fanatically attached to this winery's terrific Zinfandels, Ravenswood also does other things well. (RP)" (04/1994)

Of the 2014 Inglenook "1882" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Vinous writes: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon 1882 is a delicious entry-level wine from Inglenook. Plump, juicy and voluptuous in the glass, the 1882 is done in a forward, fruit-driven style that will deliver considerable pleasure now and over the next few years. Drink 2017 - 2024 (AG)" (03/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 The Third Twin (Sine Qua Non) "Nuestra Señora del Tercer Gemelo" Central Coast Red Blend (99RP, 98JD, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "'I had never really liked Mourvedre,' Manfred mentioned during our tasting. 'But the more I worked with it, the more I liked it. There is some synchronicity that takes place when you blend it.' Apart from being a Mourvedre-dominant blend, the other unusual thing about this wine is that this is only the second wine to be 100% from The Third Twin Vineyard--a vineyard in Los Alamos purchased by Manfred and Elaine in 2000. Not to be confused with some new Central Coast plantings of what turned out to be Graciano, Manfred explained that this is Mourvedre Clone 'S,' sourced from John Alban. Composed of 53% Mourvedre, 16% Syrah, 14% 14% Grenache, 9% Petit Sirah, 6% Graciano and 2% Viognier, 42% of whole clusters were used and the rest was destemmed. It spent around 31 months in French oak barrels, 42% new. Very deep garne

Of the 2003 Keenan "Mernet Reserve" Spring Mountain District Bordeaux Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "An equal part blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2003 Mernet exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with sweet, creamy cassis and floral notes that suggest high-elevation mountain vineyards. The palate is full-bodied, rich, youthful and surprisingly unevolved for a wine that is a decade in age. Crunchy acidity adds to the vibrancy of this big red, which appears to have two decades of positive evolution ahead of it. All five of these 2003s are extremely impressive. While I have not looked back at my notes from initial barrel and post
Starting Bid: $110.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1997 Teófilo Reyes Ribera del Duero. Wine Spectator: "Alluring mineral, dark fruit and tobacco aromas give way to more subdued but still harmonious flavors of plums and herbs, with enough acidity to keep it lively. (JS)" (04/2000)

Of the 2005 White Rock "Laureate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Laureate Napa Valley is a beauty and a sleeper of the vintage. There were 773 cases produced of this wine, which exhibits a nearly opaque, ruby/purple color and a beautiful nose of blackberry, cassis, graphite and subtle earthiness. It is full-bodied, fresh, beautifully textured and opulent, with no hard edges. The tannins and acidity are present, but beautifully integrated, as is any oak. Especially impressive are the rich mid-palate and long, pure, gorgeously refined and textured finish. This is a winner that can be drunk now, or cellared for at least another

Bid on this bottle of 1998 Cheval Blanc, St-Émilion (100DC, 100JD, 100RP, 98WS, 96JS, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1998 Cheval Blanc, a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, is deep garnet-brick in color and absolutely explodes with scents of exotic spices, incense, dried roses, cigar box and licorice, with a core of crème de cassis and dried cherries plus touches of black tea and dusty earth. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the mouth with rich, plushly textured fruit and then POW—it hits the mid-palate with an explosion of Chinese five spice and floral perfume sparks, leading to an epically long finish. This cannot fail to impress and can easily cellar for another 30 years or more. (LPB)" (05/2018)

The compelling 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley exhibits more classic cassis notes without the subtle herbaceousness of the Alexander Valley wine. It is a multi-layered, fabulously rich, intense wine with full body, a velvety texture, and oodles of fruit, glycerin, and soft tannin in the finish. (RP)"

Bid on this half-bottle of 2003 Alvear Pedro Ximénez de Añada Montilla-Moriles (375ml) (94RP, 91WS). A medium amber color is found in this sweet, unctuous effort offering abundant amounts of nut-like, caramel, and toffee flavors as well as full body and a tremendous finish. It is rare to find Napa Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines for under $50 a bottle, especially at this quality level. It offers dark fruit, chocolate, blackberry, cassis, licorice, and tobacco leaf characteristics in a plump, hedonistic style. The partnership of Mark Carter and Nils Venge has produced some impressive wines at Envy. (RP)" (12/2009)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Colgin "Tychson Hill Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 100JD, 100RP, 97JS, 96VN, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill Vineyard is a rival for the 2012. Opaque purple, with blueberry and blackberry fruit, a hint of incense and subtle toast, the wine has great intensity, incredible richness and, again, a floral blue- and black-fruited nose and flavor profile that is remarkable. The finish goes on for close to a minute. This is slightly more tightly knit than the more ostentatious 2012, but both are wines to taste and drink before you die! (RP)" (10/2015)
Starting Bid: $1,155.00

Bid on this bottle of 2008 Sine Qua Non "The Duel" Sta. Rita Hills Syrah (99RP, 96VN, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A prodigious effort that possesses overflowing richness and depth, the 2008 Syrah The Duel (88% Syrah, 6% Grenache and 6% Viognier, all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard) delivers an off-the-hook drinking experience with decadent cassis, blackberry, smoked meats, crushed flowers and hints of spice all soaring from the glass. (JD)" (08/2013)
Starting Bid: $275.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1989 Palmer, Margaux (97VN, 95RP, 92JG, 92WS). Vinous: "The 1989 Palmer has vied with the 1983 as the highlight of the decade, so it is fascinating to revisit it at 30 years old. It has a wonderful bouquet of degraded red berry fruit, singed leather and hints of game and mint, beautifully defined and still so fresh, yet undeniably old-school in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and still brimming with vigor, delivering a fine bead of acidity and a touch of cracked black pepper. A very detailed, engaging finish urges you back for another sip. A brilliant Palmer, and judging from this showing, it has another two decades of pleasure to give. Tasted from an ex-cellar bottle at the château. (NM)" (09/2019)

A powerfully structured and complex wine; beautifully full in the mouth.

Bid on this bottle of 1982 Margaux, Margaux (100DC, 99JD, 98VN, 97JS, 97RP, 96ST, 92WS). Decanter: "Still loaded up with firm tannins, this is a rich, gorgeous wine, with complex, smoky, pencil lead and graphite notes through the mid palate, before things soften to a cigar box and truffled finish. Cabernet Franc 4% rounds out blend. This stands out better than the 1983 today. Owner Corinne Menzelopoulos was at this point just two years in to her tenure at Margaux (and sharing ownership with the Agnelli family). She will not be surprised by this result - as the last time we discussed these wines, she said the 1983 was a standout for the first few decades but that, slowly but surely, the 1982 has stated to claim its spot. On this evidence, it's fully on the podium. (JA)" (07/2018)

Of the 1989 Clos du Mont-Olivet "Selection Reflets" Chateauneuf-du-Pape,Robert Parker writes writes: "This 60-acre estate of the Sabon brothers is highly fragmented. The oldest vines, located in a 20-acre Clos (an entirely walled vineyard from which the estate draws its name), produced the 540 cases of 1989 Cuvee Papet and 650 cases of the 1990 Cuvee Papet, the first two luxury/old vine cuvees the Sabons have ever made. They require significant cellaring. No new oak is utilized at this estate."

Bid on this 6L-bottle of 1996 Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (6L) (OWC - 92RP) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The dark ruby-colored 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley exhibits a pronounced smoky, espresso bean, and kirsch-scented nose. Round, dense, rich, full-bodied, and open-knit, its low acid flavors are undeniably appealing. Black olives make an appearance in the wine's aromatics as it sits in the glass. (RP)" (01/2000)
