Bid on this 375 ml 2-bottle lot of 2004 Dönnhoff Oberhäuser Brücke Riesling Eiswein Nahe (375ml) (99RP, 96WS, 95JG, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The first day’s Eiswein picking, December 21, yielded 2004 Oberhauser Brucke Riesling Eiswein A.P. #23. Smelling of a super concentrate and distillate of yellow plums, apricot and red raspberries, this displays enormous concentration, fat, thickness and sweetness on the palate while managing – thanks to its sheer density and spine-tingling citricity? no, make that electricity! – to be not at all cloying, and indeed positively animated. Warm cinnamon stick, vanilla, jellied red fruits, dried concentration of apple and plum, a wealth of citrus ? there is such concentration, complexity, purity and sheer length one becomes light-headed thinking about the sacrilege of trying to do it justice in a wine journal. This was a great vintage for these weins, with Robert Parker rating the #23 92 points, in Feb. 1994: "The two finest wines I tasted from this estate included the 1992 Eitelsbacher Karthauserhof Riesling Auslese Fuder #10 and the 1990 Eitelsbacher Karthauserhof Riesling Auslese Fuder #23. The 1990 Fuder #23 reveals a character similar to the #10, with more of a cherry component to its bouquet, as well as denser, richer fruit and superb length. It has the potential to last for two decades."

Restrained aromas of yellow plum, quince jelly and acacia honey, with a hint of spicy botrytis.Pure, rich and complex on the palate, with subtle nut oil and brown spice notes giving a lightness to the creamy custard flavor.
