2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 97VN, 97WE, 95W&S, 95WS). Vinous: "The 2001 Monte Bello is a total turn-on. Racy and hedonistic, especially by Ridge standards, the 2001 makes a strong opening statement with its super-ripe fruit and explosive aromatics. Beams of supporting tannin lie in the background and serve to give the wine its overall shape. Hints of leather, mint and sweet tobacco add perfume throughout. Over the last few years, the 2001 has begun to develop quite a bit of more tertiary notes. It remains one of the most flamboyant (and ripest) Monte Bello ever made. (AG)" (06/2017)

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Sine Qua Non "Atlantis Fe203-2a" California Grenache (100VN, 97RP, 95ST). Vinous: "The 2005 Grenache Atlantis Fe203-2a has been absolutely thrilling both times I have tasted it within the last year. A huge, vertical wine, Atlantis graces the palate with deep, voluptuous red fruit, crushed rocks, smoke, tobacco and mint. Even with all of its intensity and explosiveness, the wine remains light on its feet, with great balance and class to burn. The inclusion of whole clusters adds gorgeous lift and perfume, especially on the finish. At nearly ten years of age, the 2005 Grenache Atlantis is in a perfect spot right now and should continue to drink well for another 5-10 years, perhaps longer. (AG)" (07/2014)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Medium garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a very classic nose of cassis, warm plums and crushed blackberries with notions of cigar box, garrigue, damp soil and truffles plus wafts of menthol and underbrush. The palate is medium to full-bodied with a firm frame of grainy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and minerally. Drink through 2045. (LPB)" (06/2018)

2011 & 2014 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend Tasting Lot

Of the 2014 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The sensationally pure and seamless 2014 James Berry Vineyard Proprietary Red (42% Grenache, 24% Mourvèdre, 21% Syrah, 8% Counoise and 5% Roussanne) was brought up in a mix of barrels and foudre, followed by six months in concrete tanks. The wine offers incredibly rich and layered notes of black raspberries, creme de cassis, crushed flowers, melted licorice and peppery herbs in its full-bodied, impeccably balanced profile. Showing the more upfront, hedonistic style of the vintage, this full-bodied beauty still has ample underlying tannin, beautiful mid-palate depth and a killer finis

2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Sine Qua Non "Stock" Central Coast Syrah (98RP, 96VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A step up from the Grenache, the blockbuster-styled 2012 Syrah Stock checks in as a blend of 84% Syrah, 7% Grenache, 6% Petit Sirah, and the rest Viognier and Mourvedre, that was fermented with 32% whole clusters and aged in just over half new French oak. It offers stunning notes of blackcurrants, cassis, smoked meats, ground pepper and wild herbs to go with a full-bodied, unctuous, layered, yet always graceful and elegant feel on the palate. Nicely structured, with perfect overall balance, it still has the open-knit character of the vintage, yet has plenty of underlying structure, which at the moment is slightly hidden by the wine's lavish fruit. It will be better in 2-3 years, and have two decades of overall longevity. (JD)" (08/2015)

Possessing a deep purple color, awesome minerality in its graphite, blueberry, cassis, and spice-driven aromatics, full-bodied richness and a weightless, elegant yet powerful style that needs to be tasted to be believed, this heavenly 2015 glides over the palate and is as seamless and pure as they come. 1979 Kenwood "Jack London Vineyard" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1979 Kenwood "Jack London Vineyard" Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon. The Jack London Vineyard's red volcanic soils of Sonoma Mountain impart the fruit characteristics of this Cabernet Sauvignon with an aromatic distinction and a rich and elegant style. Renowned writer and adventurer Jack London made his home in Sonoma County's Valley of the Moon, enamored by its beauty. Between 1905 and 1916 London bought up ranches in the western hills, including hundreds of vineyard acres first planted by Kohler Fröhling Winery in the 1870s. London's property was managed by his stepsister, Eliza Shepard, whose grandson Milo, replanted 130 acres of vineyards in the late 1960s. In 1976 Kenwood Vineyards became the exclusive marketer of wines from Jack London's property. This 1979 "Jack London Vineyard" Cab is one of the early wines from this legendary Sonoma County property's second epoch as a winegrowing estate.

2017 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2017 Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (96JD). Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2016 Pinot Noir MacLean's Block comes from an east facing slope just outside the town of Occidental and spent 16 months in 31% new French oak. It’s a complete, balanced, medium to full-bodied effort that does everything right, giving up a huge bouquet of smoky black fruits, tobacco leaf, forest floor, and wood smoke. This big, masculine 2016 has plenty of tannins, a great mid-palate, and no shortage of length on the finish, it just needs 2-3 years of bottle age to show at its best." (06/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Scarecrow Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 99JS, 96WS, 94VN, 93RP) in original wood. James Suckling: "Like listening to cool mellow rock 'n' roll. Extraordinary aromas of violets and dark fruits such as blueberries and currants. I can't get over the aromas here. Then it goes to minerals with just a hint of bay leaf. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins with a beautiful softness and beautifulness. I love the balance and harmony to this with bright acidity. I would drink this before the 2007. Just under 1,000 cases of 12 but all sold in threes. Reminds me of Leoville Las Cases but with Napa brightness. Enjoy or hold for a long time." (06/2011)

2004 Alban "Seymour's Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Alban "Seymour's Vineyard" Edna Valley Syrah (100RP, 98WS, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The most structured of the three Syrahs, the 2004 Syrah Seymour’s Vineyard (100% Syrah from mostly flint and sandstone soils) is the most youthful in the lineup, with still obvious structure, incredible purity, and a finish that just won’t quit. Giving up notions of creme de cassis, smoked meats, crushed rock-like minerality, pepper and even hints of bacon fat, it’s more focused and precise than the Lorraine, yet has full-bodied richness, awesome purity and perfect balance between its structure and fruit. Benefitting from a decant, this fabulous wine will stand toe to toe with the best in the world, and will have another 15-20 years of longevity if well stored. (JD)" (04/2014)

Round, sweet and expressive - especially for the year - the 2013 exudes richness and intensity, with no excess weight and fabulous overall balance. The 2013 benefits from a high presence of Cabernet Franc that in most years makes the cut for the Bettina. Raspberry jam, mocha, rose petals and mint add the closing shades of nuance. 1969 Louis Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 1969 Louis Martini Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The story of Louis Martini is a key chapter in Napa's winemaking history. Genovese immigrant Louis Martini established his first business in 1922, smack in the middle of Prohibition (in force in the U.S. from 1919 until 1933). He was therefore limited to making "sacramental and medicinal" wines at first. With the end of prohibition, Martini became one the first winemakers in California to produce vintage varietal table wines in quantity, and at reasonable prices. His son's 1968/70 Merlot was the first varietal Merlot made in the U.S. Sourced from prime vineyards in Napa and Sonoma, including Monte Rosso in the mountains above Sonoma Valley and La Loma in the cool Carneros district south of Napa, and made with care and expertise, Louis Martini wines have aged exceptionally well. With their hallmark of impeccable balance, older Louis Martini Cabs never cease to amaze.

2011 Sine Qua Non "The Moment" California White Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2011 Sine Qua Non "The Moment" California White Blend (95RP, 94VN, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Starting off the tasting and a prodigious, unctuous white, the 2011 The Moment checks in as a blend of 57% Roussanne, 19% Petit Manseng, 17% Chardonnay and 7% Viognier that spent 16 months in a combination of concrete, new and used barrels, and stainless steel. Offering up notions of marzipan, citrus oil flowers, marmalade and spiced apricots, it flows onto the palate with full-bodied richness and depth that's balanced by beautiful underlying freshness and clarity. While I would lean towards drinking bottles over the coming 2-3 years, these can absolutely age, and have upwards of 10-15+ years of longevity. Drink now-2017+. (JD)" (08/2013)

1976 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1976 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91JG). John Gilman: "The 1976 Freemark Abbey cabernet sauvignon is a lovely example of the vintage, with the “dried fruit character” of this drought year, but with a sweet, extant core and lovely focus and balance still defining the wine as it closes in on its fortieth birthday. The excellent nose jumps from the glass in a blend of desiccated cherries, Rutherford dust, petroleum jelly, dried spice tones and gentle notes of woodsmoke in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and velvety, with excellent complexity, a fine core, still just a touch of tannin on the backend and a long, tangy and beautifully balanced finish. Really a lovely bottle of wine at its apogee, but still with plenty of life in it. Drink between 2015-2025." (08/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 96WE, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Also incredibly concentrated, with burly structure and a mountain of tannin, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Galitzine Vineyard (99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Merlot) delivers a seriously intense array of blackberry and kirsch-styled fruit, licorice, charcoal and spice box on both the nose and palate. Aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak and a big, broad shouldered, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, it possesses a rocking mid-palate and fabulous length on the finish. Really showing the power of its Red Mountain terroir, it needs 4-5 years of bottle age to become civilized and will have decades of evolution. Drink now through 2034. (JD)" (06/2013)

2013 Kongsgaard "The Judge" Napa Valley Chardonnay
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Kongsgaard "The Judge" Napa Valley Chardonnay (100RP, 96VN, 95WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Of course, it’s hard to find any, but there are usually about eight to 15 barrels of his estate Chardonnay from Coombsville called 'The Judge' in honor of his father. From old Wente clones originally planted in 1975, yields are rarely in excess of one ton of fruit per acre, which no doubt accounts for its extraordinary intensity and richness. The 2013 Chardonnay The Judge is perfect, and certainly one of the greatest Chardonnays I have ever tasted. Keeping in mind that Kongsgaard is no youngster at this game (2015 was his 41st vintage making wine), his 2013 The Judge, from the white volcanic soil in Coombsville called tufa, is an amazing wine of great intensity, power, glory, elegance, texture, density and richness. The wine offers up loads of tangerine oil, caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, white peach, apricots, and wet stones. It seems to be a smorgasbord of a

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Monte Bello ,72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot is simply magnificent. Layers of dark red fruit, flowers, spices and graphite are all woven together in this utterly impeccable wine. The 2009 is an especially huge, intense Monte Bello, yet a sexy, silky core of fruit lies within its imposing frame. Everything comes together in this glorious, radiant wine. Last year the 2009 had some pretty stiff competition from the 2010, but today it is simply firing on all cylinders. Eric Baugher describes 2009 as a year with cold weather early on, followed by heat in early June and July. The fruit was brought in on October 12, just before an intense downpour swept through the region. There is a purity and silkiness supported by structure in the 2009 that is impossible not to admire. Here it is the wine’s sublime, layered personality that stands out most. Small red berries, crushed flowers, spices and mint flow through to the finish. In 2010, the Cerise is flat-out gorgeous. Hints of game, tar and licorice add complexity as the wine opens up in the glass, leading to a striking, eternal finish. This is a flat-out gorgeous effort from Littorai and proprietor Ted Lemon. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (95VN, 93DC, 93RP, 92ST). Vinous: "Do you want the good news or the bad news? Well, Ridge's 2000 Monte Bello is still not ready to drink. Huge, rich and voluptuous, but backed up by serious structure, the 2000 is still a very, very young wine. Readers who own the 2000 should be thrilled. With time in the glass, the 2000 starts to open up a little bit aromatically, but the tannins remain imposing. Hints of tobacco, iron, smoke, savory herbs, leather and licorice all add nuance on the close. This dramatic, brooding Monte Bello will likely drink well for another three decades. The ’06 is a classically structured Napa blend, fat and flashy in youth, offering complex waves of blackberry and cherry tart, black currant, cola, licorice and sweet, spicy oak. 1973 Mount Eden Vineyards "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir
Bid on this bottle of 1973 Mount Eden Vineyards "Estate" Santa Cruz Mountains Pinot Noir (93JG). John Gilman: "This was only the second vintage produced at the newly christened Mount Eden Vineyards, with the wine made by Richard and Peter Graff. It was a very fine growing season and the Graff brothers made this entirely from whole clusters and were able to produce 404 cases from the old vines. The wine at age forty-three is still at its apogee and offers up a beautiful, tertiary constellation of dark berries, sous bois, roasted pigeon, a complex base of soil, cigar ash and a touch of menthol in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and absolutely à point, with fine structure and vitality, lovely balance and a very long, complex and classy finish. 2016 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this bottle of 2016 Screaming Eagle Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JS, 100RP, 100VN, 98DC, 98JD). Vinous: "The 2016 Screaming Eagle is a positively stunning wine. An intense bouquet gives way to a wine of explosive energy and huge textural depth. Graphite, crushed rocks, menthol, sage and dark spice open up gradually in this reticent, brooding Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2016 is a towering, statuesque wine of the very highest level. That is the good news. The slightly less good news is that it will need a number of years in bottle to be at its very best. I wouldn't dream of touching a bottle anytime soon. The 2016 literally does scream, with tons of varietal Cabernet aromatics, flavors and structural drive. In a word: magnificent! (AG)" (12/2018)

2009 The Mascot Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2009 The Mascot Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. The grapes for this wine come from younger vines on the Harlan and Bond estates and is spearheaded by Bill Harlan's son, Will. The 2009 vintage of Harlan Estate received 97 points from Robert Parker. Winery note: "2009 was a temperate year with spells of warmth but free of extremes. This lengthy growing season cooled as we approached to harvest, embracing morning fog and moderate temperature throughout the picking. The resulting wines have a higher degree of density and flesh than the previous year, with aromatics more in the vein of dark fruit, spice, and earth. With a more masculine tannin structure, the 2009 will age very well over the next twenty to twenty-five years."
